Yummy Tortured Hero,
This review is from: The Cowboy's Second Chance (Silhouette Special Edition) (Mass Market Paperback)
Lando Cartwright is about as tortured as heroes come. The world has dealt him some heavy blows, but he takes them like a man; consequently, he's a man I like. And Maggie Smith is the perfect woman to help him find his way back.
Christyne Butler has written a book that pulled me in and didn't let go. It had been a long time since I'd read a cowboy story, but she's made me eager to read the next book in the series. I'm glad I found this new Harlequin author.

This review is from: The Cowboy's Second Chance (Silhouette Special Edition) (Mass Market Paperback)
Landon Cartwright defends Maggie Stevens against some men working for her rival ranch owner, and gets beaten up by them. In steps Maggie and takes the nearly unconscious Cowboy home with her.
Landon Cartwright comes to Destiny looking for a job. He only wants to board his sick horse, earn his pay, and hit the road again. He is a very tortured hero, since he feels responsible for his wives and child's death 4 years ago. Of course he falls for Maggie and her daughter, and eventually heals and stays. Both characters are great and the book is very recommendable. |
