You need to be making a lot of money on your photography before it makes sense to buy Pocket Wizards when products like this are around.

If you are seeking a reliable and inexpensive Hot Shoe Flash Receiver this is the product for you! I rarely review products, but I had to give CowboyStudio props for selling a great product at a great price (other receivers will cost 2-4 times the cost than this). I paired my Olympus EP1 with several off camera flashes (FL-14, which came with the camera and the FL-50, which I bought later) and I could not be happier with the results. I have gotten no miss-fires since I've bought it. I am by no means a professional photographer, but I hope to be soon. This product is a must if you'd like to "play" with flash photography on a low budget. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Does exactly what you want it to do. It does not transmit TTL data but if what you want is a remote flash trigger (Popper) receiver for a great price look no further. These are not line of sight and are great solution for taking your flash off camera which is far superior than on camera flash. Step up to the next level of flash photography and get your flash off the hot shoe. Wireless Cowboy studio trigger is required to use these.

I purchased this item as a backup to the initial Transmitter/Receiver I purchased. I should have learned my mistake the first time.

This product DOES work, and works well for your off flash needs, however, the quality of construction of the hotshoe base is far from even useable. Even though it was securely attached (tightening ring tightened but not overly), when was shooting with the rig angled the weight from my speedlight (430 EX) snapped the hotshoe feet right off sending my flash unit banging to the ground!

I have since moved on to a different manufacturer's mount which is metal-based (not cheap plastic) and am very happy.

I tried this product after I received it. I worked well. three weeks later on a photo shoot, the product did'nt work. It was after the amazon return expiry window. I contact the manufacturer, but they would'nt take it back. The low price explains the low quality of the product and low quality of customer service.

I am a professional photographer, usually I shoot weddings but recently opened a small in-home studio. I wanted to keep the triggers I used for weddings as wedding-use only and needed a cheap pair of triggers for studio use so I picked these up.

First impression was the build wasn't the greatest, but I appreciate the locking foot which is the reason I chose these over the RF-602s. I quickly realized they were built just fine for studio use.

I love these triggers. I haven't had a single mis-fire with them and I've shot half a dozen portrait sessions since I got them three weeks ago. I use them with my YN-560s and Canon 5D II. I have also used them with my Canon 430 EX II, again with no problem.

I will admit I never go further than 20 feet away from them and only use them in studio. But for the price they are exactly what I need at exactly the price I needed! I highly, highly recommend these triggers. Usually I run far away from anything with "Cowboy Studios" in the name, but these are the exception. Great product.

This system has been great for me. It works reliably, has great hard switches that can be adjusted in the dark, and the battery life is exceptional. The flash mounts are solid. You need to be making a lot of money on your photography before it makes sense to buy Pocket Wizards when products like this are around. If you have to have A/B/C group firing or ETTL/CLS functions then the Pocket Wizard premium is worth the 1000% cost difference. Otherwise, these are awesome little workhorses that I continue to use for professional applications.

I bought two of these for an event. One of them was DoA. I was able to take it apart and noticed a solder joint had come loose. I fixed it and all was well - but at the end, I had a 50% failure rate.

These are great and worked had about a 95% success rate on firing. Not bad for $25 triggers! But if you need them for event, I would suggest picking up an extra one just in case.

It baffles me why people would spend $100 or more on the expensive versions of this exact concept. Literally all I needed was a wireless receiver to fire a group of flashes. I could spend upwards of $300 for the various receivers and transmitter or buy a handful of these for $16 a piece. Not only have I never had a single problem with the 3 receivers I even stepped on one after a wedding reception while putting my gear away. Had I purchased the overpriced versions I would have been pretty upset. But since I only had to shell out $16 for a replacement (which worked just as perfectly as the original) life is pretty good.
Looking beyond my obvious bias towards this awesome device, it does feel a little cheap. An expensive, canon weather sealed, all metal construction product this is not! I wish the battery compartment was a little less loose (a little piece of tape fixed that but I wish they had taken 2 minutes to make the design a little better).
