Yumi Matsutoya is a prolific Japanese singer/songwriter who has 25 or so albums out. While she has been replaced by Glay, The Yellow Monkey, Smap and a host of other Japanese pop groups, she remains a constant, turning out an album a year. "Cowgirl Dreamin'" is among the best work she's done. As to the type of music, well, it's definitely pop but clean, well written and wonderfully produced...
