Ironic Surprise!,
This review is from: Cowlick! (Deluxe Golden Book) (Hardcover)
I have 3 little boys and when my oldest two were little and used to wake up in the morning we would laugh at how their hair looked. We imagined a story of a sweet cow (we named her Bessie) who snuck into their rooms at night and gave them a big lick on their heads to show them she loved them. My middle child who is in 1st grade came home with this book from the school library last week. He read it to me and I just about fell out of my chair. It was the story I used to tell them about Bessie, minus the cow in the book actually having a name. I loved this book so much because it obviously has special meaning to our family since it is the same story I made up way back when my 10 year old was just a toddler and because just like us it has 3 sons/brothers in the story. I am buying Cowlick from Amazon to add or our boy's library not just because it has special meaning but because it is a super sweet story.

my daughter is obsessed with this book!,

She absolutely loves it. She loves to have it read to her and she will also sit for a long time and pretend to read it to herself (she is only 2 so she can't read). She even knows what page to make the slurping sound on.

Fabulous, Funny & Unforgettable!,

This book is funny and smart. The art work is amazing... true art work rather than just some drawings slapped into a book. My kid giggles and cackles every time I read the words "SLURP... SLURP"... as I pretend I lick em'!
SHort enough to keep a kid's attention... yet long enough to unwind with your little rugrat. Great bedtime or anytime book. This one is my kid's favorite... and age appropriate for anyone! A must-have for all kid's libraries... and a great gift! I've bought one for every baby shower i've been invited to!

LOVE IT!!,
This review is from: Cowlick! (Deluxe Golden Book) (Hardcover)
What a sweet book! I read it to my son and he loved the pictures as well as the story. I bought several copies to give to his Preschool teachers as "end of the year gifts" and they too raved about the book. They especially liked the "right amount of words" for the younger reader. I'm glad to have it in my collection. I bought a few more to give for future gifts too!

A zany, gentle story of a loving cow provides a fun alternative idea of a cowlick's origins.,

Rosalind Beardshaw provides large-sized, fun pictures to accent a very easy beginner's reader telling of the source of a 'cowlick'. When the moon is high, that's when the giver of the cowlick trods down the hall, A zany, gentle story of a loving cow provides a fun alternative idea of a cowlick's origins.
