I used to have a rice heating pad that went in the microwave and when I saw this today at a local store, I got it for my son. I've only heated it once, but the lavender scent was very strong. You can also smell the rice a little if you sniff it, but I already expected that. It stays warm for quite some time as there is quite a bit of rice inside it and it's a bit heavy. The fur is so soft and there are options with shorter fur that is safer for small babies. Overall I think this is just an adorable and fun heating pad you can use for all kinds of things. My 5 yr old thinks it is the neatest stuffed animal and loves that it stays warm for so long.
