I loved my Fashion Plates as a kid, and I was excited to find these for my preschool-aged girls. As soon as we took them out of the boxes, I could tell they were a horrible imitation of the toy I had. You can't use the storage drawer at all. The cover that is supposed to hold the paper over the templates is flimsy and does not keep the paper in place. The ridges on the templates are too short, so it's really difficult to get a good outline. And the colored pencils that are included are bad quality as well. I ended up throwing both kits away after about a week because we simply couldn't do much with them. Absolute junk!

I was really excited when I found this for my daughter. My mother still has the original Barbie one I played with as a child. When we opened this I noticed how cheap it seemed to be. The plates don't stay in place at all, the cover that holds the paper down doesn't work and is warped to a point where it only half stays down. If I had paid more for it I would go through the hassle of returning it.

I am returning this item because the plastic drawer that the pieces store in is warped just slightly, but enough that the pieces won't fit in it. I can not store the parts in the drawer so it loses it's storage aspect. There would just be loose pieces to store somewhere else.
