Editorial Reviews

Originally released in 1975, Area’s third album is an eclectic furnace of Jazz-Rock, ethnic Folk, experimentation and an ethically conscious manifesto for the arising of the masses, which made Area an icon of the Italian music scene of the '70s. This is perhaps the best confirmation of the band’s crazy fusion: furious, mind-bending rhythms and melodies balanced with humor and the avant-garde. Akarma. 2007.

5.0 out of 5 stars Masterpiece of 1970s progressive Italian fusion, January 30, 2011

This review is from: Crac! (Audio CD)
If you like complex 1970s progressive rock, this is a great album for you. "Crac!" is filled with quirky, jerky rhythms, atonal solos, and a totally unique vocalist (Demetrios Stratos) whose voice ranges from melodies to insane warbles and back. In some ways it's more jazz/fusion than progressive, but really it's the two genres smashed together... hard. This is also Area's best album.
