Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Explicit Version. Joseph Wayne McVey better known by his stage name Z-Ro, is a Rapper from Houston, Texas and he is known for his "up-from-nothing" rise to fame, flexibility in rhyme and extensive collaboration with other rap artists and musicians. Z-Ro's popularity has increased rapidly, as he has been featured on Ugk's singles "Trill Niggas Don't Die", Bun B's single "Draped Up" with Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, Mike Jones, Lil Flip,Lil Keke, and Aztek Escobar and also on Chamillionaire's "Won't Let You Down" featuring a plethora of Houston-based rappers. Before being incarcerated prior to the release of I'm Still Livin', Z-Ro stated in an interview that the album would be his last. This statement was later retracted after the 2007 release of his mixtape Power. Z-Ro says he gave it that name because of 2 reasons; all the hard work he put into the album and because he was addicted to working on it.

4.0 out of 5 stars TRY IT ON SEE IF IT FIT, September 25, 2008
i just opened dis cd. and was real excited to get it. (aint much else to look forward to in iraq) but was mildly dissapointed. it aint that the songs aint jammin. but from all his other albums (excluding the one before this one) true zro fans know he can do so much better. i love how he be doin them hooks, zro always had the hook game on lock, but its hard to tell where the verse end and the hook begin in this one. i think the people still wanna hear throwed heart felt lyrics, (with some blood sweat and tears in it) and then a cold hook. and yea he do be doin too many cuts from other songs. i can say it was better than POWER. BUT I THINK
Z-RO NEED TO GET HATED ON SOON. SO DAT BOY CAN GET RUTHLESS AGAIN.

3.0 out of 5 stars Z-Ro - Crack , September 24, 2008
By Constant (Vancouver, BC Canada) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
Z-Ro's (A.K.A. Joseph Wayne McVey) latest album "Crack" (2008) is a fifteen track release which features guest appearances from Slim Thug, Mike D, Lil Keke, Mya Pimp C & Paul Wall. I have lost count of how many album's Ro has done but think this is his 13th studio album. I have enjoyed a number of Z-Ro's past album's but feel like this one is definetly lacking some elements - one of the major ones being production - this release has very sparse and less then memorable production throughout. One of the few exceptions and my favourite track at the moment is "The Mo City Don" - Z-Ro drops some on point lyrics about the game, singing his own chorus. Elsewhere on this album a lot of the tracks feature the same themes as past Z-Ro releases, but he has done better versions of them, Z-Ro does seem "Tired" and it reflects in a lack of charism. I think dedicated Z-Ro fans will still like this release that said, I would like to see Z-Ro change up and get the production he deserves, deliver some fresh concepts in his lyrics and continue to work on his choruses (one of the few rappers in the game who is good with them).

5.0 out of 5 stars Z-Ro got flow, hands down, April 14, 2009
Ro's newest album, Crack, is not like any other, a lot more chill, but straight up catchy, no doubt. His rhymes and hooks are excellent, and each song keeps you wantin more.
Mo City Don, Rollin, You, 25 lighters, and Paid My Dues are my fav tracks, deep lyrics from a damn good emcee.
