5.0 out of 5 stars Best AP Chem review book available!
I owned or perused several different review books for the AP Chemistry Exam, but this was certainly the best. I've never seen an AP book as perfectly on-target as this one. Certain books (like Barron's AP Chem) contain too much information where it actually impedes your preparation, whereas others contain too little (which Princeton Review sometimes tends to do). 2.0 out of 5 stars cracking the ap chemistry exam
The book was written in - in PEN! All the answers ! It made for a waste of time and money to get a book you could not use as a study tool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best AP Chem review book available!, July 8, 2006
This review is from: Cracking the AP Chemistry Exam, 2006-2007 Edition (College Test Preparation) (Paperback)
But this book gets the combination just right. It reviews ALL of the necessary facts and concepts you need to know, and excludes everything you don't need to know. Trust me when I say that this book is on the money. And oh, I got a 5.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Review of Chemistry Concepts... But..., January 13, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Cracking the AP Chemistry Exam, 2006-2007 Edition (College Test Preparation) (Paperback)
I Bought Princeton Review's AP Chemistry 2006-2007. I looked through the book, and it's a great review, and my teacher says it's a good book to use. However, I was hoping this new book would cover the changes in the test for the 2007 AP Chemistry Test. It doesn't. It doesn't affect the content of the book other than the practice tests.

In the old AP Chemistry Test (2006 and before) Section I counted 45% of the score, and Section II counted 55%. Now (2007), they count equally.

Also, Section II worked differently.
All Students would answer Question 1 (Equilibrium with Calculator)
Students would choose between Questions 2 and 3 (Calculator)
All Students would answer Question 4 (Equations Non-Calculator)
All Students would answer Questions 5 and 6 (One is a Lab Question Non-Calculator)
Students would choose between Questions 7 and 8 (Non-Calculator)

Now, all students don't have any choices; they all answer questions 1-6. In addition, Question 4 is a new format. In the old test, students had 10 minutes to choose 5 equations to write out out of a choice of 8. They didn't have to be balanced. Now, all students have to write out 3 equations, balance them, and answer a question about it.

The changes don't affect what you need to know for the test, so the content inside the book is still very very helpful. However, the free responses are the old format. It's a fantastic book to review for the test. You really should work all the problems in the book. Just don't count on section II being exactly like in the book. It isn't.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book = key to getting a 5 on the AP test, July 1, 2006
This review is from: Cracking the AP Chemistry Exam, 2006-2007 Edition (College Test Preparation) (Paperback)
I am very pleased with this book. Although there are a few typos, it gets the point out very effectively. I used it to do ALL of my studying for the AP test (along with actual AP practice tests) and got a 5!!!Just make sure you go through the free response questions in each section, even if u dont do the multiple choice.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Cracking the AP Chemistry Exam, 2006-2007 Edition (College Test Preparation) (Paperback)
(I'm not actually a kid; I just didn't think my dad wanted his name printed. I took the test last (school) year-2006.) I read over every chapter of this book, made flashcards of everything that was important, and bascially memorized those-why I got a 5 (besides the ton of studying). Almost everything in the book was on the test, and almost everything on the test was in the book. Even if the book doesn't cover everything, this is a great book because of its conciseness, and if it doesn't cover it, it's probably not worth your time to learn it for one question or two.

5.0 out of 5 stars On-Target Material, January 7, 2007

This review is from: Cracking the AP Chemistry Exam, 2006-2007 Edition (College Test Preparation) (Paperback)
This book was a great supplement to my preparation for the 2006 AP Chem test. I actually lucked out because the Princeton Review was the only one left out of all the other brands, so I had to buy this book. I had always been a top chemistry student, but it really augmented my comprehension of the subject and provided me with the extra reinforcement necessary to score a 5 on the exam. The book covered all the topics on the AP exam with a strong summary, and the practice tests were helpful. True-the practice questions were somewhat easier then the real exam, but were still useful as a study tool and confidence booster. Most of my success was probably because I reread the textbook, but this book helped create the big picture and focus points. Thanks to the book, I not only aced the AP exam, but also scored a 790 on the SAT II chem test a month later, and helped me win my high school's chem award. I'm not sure if the Princeton Review is as strong in the other AP subjects, but this one is for sure. To my knowledge, this one is the best one out there for AP chem.

This is my second Princeton Review AP study book, and it is just as helpful, if not more because I am not really strong in Chemistry. It has two real AP tests included and great explanations on the answers. It is well worth the money and is good just as a review of chem!

This book has helped me understand AP Chemistry, and simplified difficult concepts. It gives good examples for tests. It has helped me to raise my grade in my high school AP Chemistry class. Definitely a great book to have when taking this class.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Concise Review Book, May 23, 2007
This review is from: Cracking the AP Chemistry Exam, 2006-2007 Edition (College Test Preparation) (Paperback)
This review book has been really helpful in preparaing me for the AP Chem exam. Unlike other review books, this book does not include a whole lot of review information. This is good because when you review, too much conceptual reviews can actually hinder the review process, something that Baron review books tend to do very much. In addition, the problems on the back of every section are very useful, although it's actually a little harder than the actual problems on the exam. Overall, this book has been very helpful.

This book is an excellent review source for the AP Chemistry exam. I was very satisfied with the material. The only problem noted was that the free response section of the review is not in the current format of the test. The material, however, is relevant. Would highly recommend this book!
