5.0 out of 5 stars Better than any that i've seen.
I took both of the macro and micro exams this year. I had a kaplan guide from my teacher, which was very, very confusing and had very few graphs or visuals.
this aide explained concepts much better and had more graphs. I studied more for the micro exam (i didn't take a class in it - I think I easily got 4 just from this book), but what i reviewed from macro was...

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, but not great
I got this book because I had took AP Microeconomics first semester and thought it would be a great review for the AP test.
There are some preliminary problems with it though:
For starters, it only has ONE practice test for each of the econ classes. So one for Micro and one for Macro. Nearly not enough for any test taker to really assess their skills...

UPDATE:
In the end, I got a 5 on the micro test, and I used this for probably 95% of the studying I did for it. As I said, I took no class in micro. So obviously this section is amazing - I almost exclusively studied from it and got a 5!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good study guide, July 28, 2008

Excellent for reviewers and good for beginners like myself. I learned everything about economics only from this book and took both practice tests. I got 3 on both because I couldn't get enough practice out of this book. So I recommend beginners to get supplements with more practice tests or ask your teacher for worksheets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesomely concise, April 23, 2010

I used this - perhaps unwisely - to study for the CLEP Microeconomics exam. It worked out really well, at least.

I got this book on Monday evening, read the first half as fast as I could, took the CLEP Tuesday afternoon, and got "good enough for credit". I'd had most of microeconomics before, so it was more of a crash-refresher than a crash-course, but for less than $100 (exam + book), I get to skip a $1500 class.

Woo!

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, but not great, May 29, 2009
This review is from: Cracking the AP Economics Macro & Micro Exams, 2009 Edition (College Test Preparation) (Paperback)
I got this book because I had took AP Microeconomics first semester and thought it would be a great review for the AP test.
There are some preliminary problems with it though:
For starters, it only has ONE practice test for each of the econ classes. So one for Micro and one for Macro. Nearly not enough for any test taker to really assess their skills.
Secondly, the actual review part or each class is just like 100 pages and just brushes over the material very briefly.
Now with that said, it's still and OK book. If you are someone who is taking economics the same semester you are taking the AP test then this book is a great refresher for your memory. If you took a break (a.k.a took it a semester or two before the test itself) then I'd recommend that you buy this and in addition the Kaplan or any other review book that goes into a little more detail or has more practice tests.
One good thing about this book was that it helped me get all the graphs straight and it put all the concepts in some basic terms to help me gain a better understanding.
Also here a great review sites for economics:

5.0 out of 5 stars Memorize this book - you WILL get a 5., August 24, 2009

OK, maybe you don't have to memorize it, but as long as you understand the concepts in this book (For MACROECONOMICS), you should do fine. I was lost all year and usually did other homework in that class. I finally stepped it up about a week before the exam and read the 40 or 50 pages of this book and realized economics is extremely easy. It is impossible not to get a 5 if you get this book - but don't just get it - understand EVERYTHING in the macroeconomics section. BTW, the author is the chief AP grader for this test so go FIGURE! BTW, I got a perfect 5 on this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for quick review, June 17, 2009
This review is from: Cracking the AP Economics Macro & Micro Exams, 2009 Edition (College Test Preparation) (Paperback)
I was on a time crunch, and this book really was good for a one-night review. It was well-presented and concise. However, it certainly does not make up for taking the time to understand the ideas behind economics, which is what the AP tests. Some of the AP might be regurgitation but certainly not enough for a 5. That said, this is a very good review book but will not necessarily carry the average student.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some test pages missing, May 13, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Positive: The shipping time was really fast. I received the book sooner than expected. I bought this book used but it was listed as all pages intact. The book "looked" like new. Negative: One of the tests had been torn out and the answers were circled on another test. Not good.I would have returned it but it wasn't worth the hassle.
