3.0 out of 5 stars Inadequate, September 22, 2006
This review is from: Cracking the LSAT with DVD, 2007 Edition (Graduate School Test Preparation) (Paperback)
This book is only good for someone who has no idea what the LSAT is and who aims to get an average score. The book does put forth some good techniques but do not be fooled into buying this book b/c of the DVD. The DVD is mostly unhelpful and consists of maybe 20 minutes of very broad and general knowledge.

If one really wants to crack the LSAT i.e. break the 170 mark, buy the Powerscore books. They are more expensive, but they go through every type of question and how to solve them. Then go to the LSAC website and buy some previously administered tests.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Book - DVD almost useless, September 7, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cracking the LSAT with DVD, 2007 Edition (Graduate School Test Preparation) (Paperback)
The information provided in the book is well organized and does a good job of explaining steps and strategies. I would recommend the book without hesitation. However, if like me, you buy it thinking the DVD would be a good way to supplement the material, you'll probably be disappointed.

While the DVD does cover the different areas of the test, it does so fairly superficialy and it's easy to watch the entire disk in one sitting, because it's so short. So if the DVD might otherwise give this the edge over another alternative, it shouldn't, although the book will stand on its own merits.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best I've seen so far, June 25, 2007
This review is from: Cracking the LSAT with DVD, 2007 Edition (Graduate School Test Preparation) (Paperback)
Just bought this one and have spent a few hours in the games section. If I had read this prior to taking my LSAT earlier this month, I would not have needed to cancel my score and reschedule to take it again in September. Very useful and to the point explanation of: A) what the games actually are (puzzles of spatial relationships) B) A method for quickly determining a good model diagram. C) A specific explanation of the basic formal logic that will be the most helpful in saving time and choosing correct answers. Very impressed so far.
