We Know the SAT II: History

1. The experts at The Princeton Review take the SAT II: History and other standardized tests several times a year to make sure you get the most up-to-date, thoroughly researched books possible.

2. Each year we help more than two million students score high with our courses, bestselling books, and award-winning software.

We Get Results

3. Students who take our courses for the SAT, ACT, and many other tests see score improvements that have been verified by independent accounting firms. The proven techniques we teach in our courses are in this book.

And If It's on the SAT II: History Exam, It's in This Book

4. We don't try to teach you everything there is to know about history -- only what you need to know to score high on the SAT II exam. There's a big difference. In Cracking the SAT II: History, 1998-99 Edition, you will learn to think like the test-makers and:

Eliminate answer choices that look right but are planted to fool you
Earn more points by knowing in advance what American and world history topics are tested
Score higher by using the "era" approach to remembering historical facts
Employ specific techniques for cracking both the American and world history tests

Practice your skills on the three full-length sample tests inside (two for American history and one for world history). The questions are exactly like the ones you'll see on the actual SAT II: History exam, and we fully explain every solution.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

Cracking the SAT II: History Subject Tests includes in-depth instruction on skills covered by the History Achievements. It will then show you how to use that knowledge to quickly attack and answer test questions. This book covers the European and American History tests, for each of which a diagnostic is included. It will teach you to think like the test makers, find hidden clues in every question and avoid the traps that trick most students. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

I bought this book because the other Princeton Review books I have read have been so helpful, unfortunately this one just did not measure up. I do not reccomend this book at all, don't buy it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money, January 10, 2004

This book did not help me prepare sufficently for the World History subject test. I studied the material in this book and took the diagnostic in the book. I scored a 630 on the diagnostic. The real test is nothing like the practice test. DO not buy this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars stuck in limbo..., September 18, 2005
I took the sat 2 us history test a month after the ap test. I thought I had enough prep from the ap class to take the sat 2 subject test. A few days before the exam, I casually looked at the book. It is a very quick review, that would not allow to score an 800 with just the book. With prep from ap and a few days of this book, I landed a 700 on the exam, which was a bit disapointing. It is not as bad as others have commented. However, it is perhaps not as great as it could be, thus I give this book a 3.
