Book Description

College Test Preparation January 10, 2006
The Princeton Review realizes that scoring high on the AP Spanish Exam is very different from earning straight A’s in school. We don’t try to teach you everything there is to know about Spanish–only the strategies and information you’ll need to get your highest score. In Cracking the AP Spanish Exam, we’ll teach you how to

·Eliminate answer choices that look right but are planted to fool you
·Focus on the grammar topics that are most important for the test
·Score higher on Free-Response sections by learning to focus your analytic skills quickly and efficiently
·Build your vocabulary by studying our Spanish glossary of poetic devices

This book includes 2 full-length practice tests, one for Spanish Language and one for Spanish Literature. All of our practice questions are just like those you’ll see on the actual exam, and we explain how to answer every question.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money!, July 28, 2006
This review is from: Cracking the AP Spanish Exam, 2006-2007 Edition (College Test Preparation) (Paperback)
This book says it has an AP Spanish Literature practice test. You may be thinking to yourself, "Wow! Just what I always needed!" WRONG! The AP Spanish Literature test and reading list changed a few years ago from 5 authors in detail to a mini-Master's reading list of 35 authors or so and 56 works, covering Medieval to 20th century literature from Spain and Latin America. While Princeton Review did FINALLY update their reading list to the current one required by College Board, the practice exam HAS NEVER BEEN UPDATED. It still tests as if there were only 5 authors to study. So if you buy this book (wasting your money, of course) and expect to take a practice test similar to the one you will encounter on test day, you will be surprised to find out that you can't answer most questions. One essay deals with Ana Maria Matute who doesn't even appear on the NEW reading list. Similarly, the AP Spanish Language practice exam too is OUT-DATED since in 2007 the test will follow the new format designed by the College Board and the majority of the test will not look anything like the former AP exam. I can't believe Princeton Review believes it is servicing students by just changing the dates on the outside covers. If I could I would give this product negative stars.
