This study guide is very different from other Princeton Review products. I have used several AP Study guides by this company and they are great. This one, however, is not. The book takes you through a review of Statistics concepts. I found the reviews to be very difficult to understand. I feel like the writer could have done a much better job of explaining in a way that is understandable. There are no review quizzes at the end of each chapter to help you evaluate your understanding of the chapter. I did not like that. In all other Princeton Review Guides, there are review quizzes that I find very helpful. The one good thing about this guide is the practice exams in the back. These are very much like the real thing and can prove useful in preparing for the exam day. Overall, I don't recommend.

5/13: Reading through The Princeton Review: Cracking the AP Statistics Exam, I found it an immense disappointment. The review materials, as compressed as they are, are very dry. The main points are illustrated and all that. It's very wonderful and breathtaking. At the end of each chapter, very few questions are asked that can be answered within few minutes. Then, that's about it for the book. I literally read through it in few hours and finished the exams the next day. Speaking of the exams, I thought they were unbelievably difficult. I've taken undergraduate statistics courses in a community college and in universities and also one graduate level statistics course. I have also conducted a lot of work with many clients who take online college statistics courses. That makes me very familiar in how the classes are conducted and what kind of questions the students are expected to encounter on a typical statistics exam. Usually, the questions will be 85% application based and 15% theoretical. But no...on these two practice exams, the tables have been turned around. Hence, what I took felt a lot more like a graduate level examination. I asked myself if the AP people are for real. This amount of difficulty at a high school level? Wow...okay. Anyway, solving the exam questions and then thinking back to the review material provided by the book, the all-important question is, "Did the author do a good job of preparing the test taker for such nature of the questions?" The answer is an emphatic no with a capital N. Hence, the rating of `3' from me. However, it gets a `3' on the positive side for the creation of these two practice exams, so there will be no surprises in terms of difficulty on the actual AP exam.

Only buy this book if you already took an AP Statistics class. The explanations in this book are completely inadequate.

This book is merely a summary of how to use the correct formulas.

Furthermore, this book contains errors.

Well I'm a big fan of Princeton review or at least was. This year it's safe to say that they are really slacking. There are multiple pages with math done incorrectly and some pages even have a five part question but there are only answers to the first three parts. Like honestly would it kill you to reread and edit?! Some of us are trying to study for these tests and incorrect answers do not help. On top of that half of the book is labelled as cracking the ap psychology exam. This isn't that big of a deal because it's just a label but the laziness is astonishing. DO NOT GET THIS.

Many of the explanations and math are wrong! Unless you already enough statistics to know whether some explanations are right or not, do not get this book!!!!

Does not help at ALL! The way everything is explained is more confusing than the topic itself. The problems are easy but nothing compared to what appears on the AP exam.

This book definitely helped my high school son do well on his test. One weekend with this book as his guide was better than the two months of test prep offered at the school. A must buy.
