This review is from: Crackle of My Soul (Audio CD)
I love Cindytalk. I had the vinyl releases, the recent (dubious) re-issues (In This World being the best). I think Gordon Sharp is fascinating, beautiful and gifted with the most amazing voice, including his work with This Mortal Coil (on It'll End in Tears (Reis)) and the rare version of 'Help me lift you up'. His lyrics, especially on 'In this world', are amazing. The bands musical variety - from delicate to noise, awe inspiring.
I was so excited to hear of this release. I have tried to listen to it repeatedly over the past few months since it released. He never sings, never even mutters that I can discern. The music is noise, but not really in a good way - say Nurse With Wound ('Salt Marie Celeste' or 'Spiral Insana'). It is basically uninteresting. And he is wasting his talent. Try to hear the earlier recordings; they are some of the greatest dark treasures.(The earliest being: Camouflage Heart)
