I have used my gel fuel fireplace for over 6 years now and love it. I recently tried this brand of gel fuel and it is not so good. The can will not burn completely and the flame goes out with about a third of the can unburned. When I try to re light the unused portion it won't relight. So I do not recommend this product to anyone.

I've had my gel fuel fireplace for two years now. I recently purchased a case of Crackling Flames gel fuel and I'm sorry I did. Crackling Flames has many faults. First off, it has a terrible smell when burning. I realize most gel fuel does, but this is by far the worst. Secondly, the flame does not burn as high as the other gel fuel I've used. It barely tops the log insert. Thirdly, it doesn't burn as long as other gel fuels. You'll be lucky to get a couple of hours from it. Finally, as the other reviewer stated, it goes out before reaching the bottom of the can and leaves about 1/4 to 1/5th of the can unburned. You cannot relight it. I guess you can say I bought two cases of Crackling Flames gel fuel, my first and my last.
