Book Description

Harlequin Intrigue July 11, 2006

Months after Lexie Rayburn faked her own disappearance, someone injected her with a drug that robbed her of her memories, and kidnapped her newborn baby. Now, the only hope for locating her daughter rested on the too-broad shoulders of Garrett O'Malley—the one man she swore she'd never set eyes on again.

But someone would stop at nothing to ensure Lexie never learned the truth about her baby's disappearance. Still, as the danger escalated, Lexie wondered which posed a greater risk: the killer on their trail or a reunion with her baby's father....

Editorial Reviews

Review

Delores Fossen's The Cradle Files (4.5) is a shoot-from-the-hip thriller laden with red herrings and sizzling romance. -- Romantic Times, 4 1/2 Stars, Top Pick, July 2006

About the Author

When Delores Fossen was a child, she used to sneak around and collect fingerprints, hair strands and fibers left by family members and guests. At age eight, she solved a crime. Well, sort of. When someone nibbled off the ear of her chocolate Easter bunny, she searched for clues and soon discovered that her sister had chocolate bunny breath. With that "case closed," Delores believed she’d discovered her calling--she wanted to be an FBI agent--but her mom informed her at that time girls weren’t allowed to be agents. Miffed, Delores opted for a slightly different career path--she creates fictional FBI agents and other law enforcement characters. Writing romantic suspense is something she enjoys immensely.

Married to an Air Force officer and the mother of four children, Delores has lived in England and all over the U.S. She’s had a variety of careers and jobs: an Air Force captain, a special ed teacher and a rehab counselor. None was as fun or challenging as the time she’s spent as a stay-at-home mom. She still collects fingerprints, hair strands and fibers every time she dusts or vacuums, which isn’t very often.

4.0 out of 5 stars REALLY A 4 PLUS - #3 IN A SERIES, July 11, 2006

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Cradle Files (Harlequin Intrigue) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is Garrett O'Malley's story - the 3rd in the O'Malley family. The 1st was VEILED INTENTIONS and then SANTA ASSIGNMENT - Pretty good series.

Garrett is caught without a stitch of clothing on nor is he near his Glock when an intruder holds him at gun point.
[grin] What a way to get caught.

Lexie Rayburn makes a drastic re-appearance in Garrett's life after leaving him almost a year ago. Holy Cow, does she drop an emotional bomb on him.

She is woozey and has a tale of her baby being taken from her at birth about 3 weeks ago. She needs Garrett to help get her baby back.

But is she telling the truth?
Ah well, after some arguements and flying bullets Garrett knows something is up but he is determined not to jeapordize his badge. So he calls his brother, Brayden [of the SANTA ASSIGNMENT] to help him save Lexie from whoever wants her dead.
He has quite a lineup of suspects.
Bill Avery, Lexie's former boss.
Dr. Lannay Blake who is director of the clinic where the baby was stolen.
Alicia Peralta, one of the clinic nurses.
Dr. Andrew Darnell, the obstretrician Lexie believes tried to kill her.
And Irving Kent, Darnell's attorney - just what does he know?

Great characters - fast paced plot - nice, nasty villians - just enough mayhem to keep it realistic - excellent read - and then there is the PMS.

Definitely Recommended -M
