GPS Cradle Holder Compatible with Garmin Nuvi

Our original cradle was misbehaving, leading to unreliable connectivity with the traffic receiver/charger cable. This product was an exact replacement for our original cradle and has provided good-as-new connectivity again.

The socket of the unit that came with the GPS broke after 6 months.
I had to buy a replacement. Hope it will last longer that the first one.

My garmin had started acting flaky, i.e. it kept switching back and forth from the battery to the power from the car. I was concerned that I would have to replace the GPS unit entirely, but thought I would try to replace the connectors first. When I purchased this new cradle and hooked it up everything functioned flawlessly. As far as I can tell this unit is identical to the original equipment that came with the GPS. It was a good purchase and saved me from having to purchase a new GPS.

My kids broke the first cradle that comes with the GPS unit because they tried to pull out the power cord's plug without squeezing the tabs that come with the power cord. Hence, the need for this replacement cradle which is all you need if you have happen what happened to me.

I have issues charging 765T and it keeps charging in and out and i initially thought it was the cable, so i bought new cable still have the issue. Then i bought this after reading the reviews and it works absolutely fine with my 756T. Its charging fine as like original and my garmin is now to back to work now.

This cradle is a good item to stock up on. Since I don't want to invest in a new GPS unit, this cradle recieves the brunt of the wear and tear. I am constantly taking the GPS in and out of the cradle whenever I get in and out of my car. And I like how this cradle fits into the 'beanbag' friction mount instead of the suction cup that hung from my windshield. The windshield mount was always losing suction & falling, so I went with the friction mount, and my whole GPS system is less banged-about now. I would buy this product again from this buyer.

If you read these reviews, which are overwhelmingly positive, you'll see that the reason people have purchased the replacement is that the original part broke after a period of time. Mine did as well, which is why I'm here writing a review of a part I should never have had to purchase.
The connector that the power/signal cable plugs into is not robust enough to stand the abuse of being plugged and unplugged all the time. Nor is it robust enough to tolerate staying plugged in and being flexed all the time while attached to the cable.
Yuck.

This product works perfectly with my Garmin nüvi 760 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Automobile Navigator. Recently my original part failed after one and half years of daily use. First I thought my power cord might be failed, but it turned out to be the connector of my original cradle that was losened.

I have the 755T. Which Garmin has replaced 3 times for me over the past 15 months or so for one reason or the other. But I love the features on my garmin and was dismayed when the connection came loose. The final straw was a couple of weeks ago when I got lost because I could not even get it to come on! I totally forgot that I could have used my computer cable and just use the GPS without the adapter. DUH!

So I was first going to replace the adapter and cradle because the connection was so loose. Then I read the reviews here and realized I should start by replacing the cradle. I cancelled my order and replaced just the cradle. Especially since the replacement adapter didn't have the traffic connection. And as lame as that is sometimes, it has saved me on occasion. Saved myself $12. The fit was perfect! My traffic icon was back ( it had disappeared, along with the GPS' ability to even stay on!)

So thanks for sharing the info! I'm also thinking I should buy another just in case this one comes loose in the next year or so, and then they stop making them!

I originally thought that this holder wouldn't work with the GDB-50 power cord. However, I discovered that the power cord was still "holding on" to metal part of the internal connector in the old holder. (It had broken off.) Upon removing the metal part from the old connector, the power cord fit into the new holder.

My ranking is based on the reliability of the original holder, which lasted a little more than a year. As expensive as this part is, it should be more durable.
