This book is a reminder that there is not an app for everything. Craft Activism is all about enduring relationships to each other, the earth, ideas, materials, community, the senses, and art. Add in gorgeous photography and you have a gem of a book!

Craft activism,

Another great collaboration from Tapper/Zucker. Yes it will give you the itch to create, and yes it makes you realize how the tradition of craft can have great meaning and bring you together as community - while having a lot of fun. It's also a great read with gorgeous pictures- with information on organizations, events and sites where craft and cause go hand in hand. Are you ready to be a knit-bomber?And look for copies of the(out of print) title Shear Sprit.

Inspiration and Beyond,
This review is from: Craft Activism: People, Ideas, and Projects from the New Community of Handmade and How You Can Join In (Paperback)
The new "Craft Activism" book by the wonderfully well written Joan Tapper and gifted photographer Gale Zucker will bring you back to childhood and back to the present with wonderfully presented projects for today's crafter. This inspiring book will give you "the bug" to bring out those tools that are stuffed in the back of your drawers and craft closets and start to create once again. Homemade and handmade have never been so appreciated as they are today. This book is a must for all your friends who yearn to be creative. Enjoy the gift of giving and the gift of creating a one of a kind masterpiece. I do.
Check me out at [...] and "Taste the Love".

This book really opened my eyes to what I can do with my crafts! A great idea book, as well. I never thought of making some of the projects highlighted in the book, but now I will! Great book!

Funny-- and inspiring,

Craft Activism is a fun book...fascinating and witty--both the writing and the photography. Gale Zucker has a wonderful eye for the absurd or the funny or the inspiring, and Joan Tapper writes with empathy and clarity and in fine style. I have enjoyed this book enormously--and I'm not even a knitter. If you ARE a knitter--this has got to be a must read; if you just like to learn about original people creating unusual crafts for a cause, again it's a must.
