Plowman (The Encyclopedia of Sculpting Techniques, Running Pr., 1995) is a sculptor who has turned his hand to the making of decorative paper. This well-illustrated book covers many aspects of making paper from various raw materials, as well as the use of the finished product in projects. This guide has many similarities to Sophie Dawson's The Art and Craft of Papermaking (LJ 12/92); in fact it contains several photographs from the Dawson book. Libraries having Dawson's book probably will not need this one, but otherwise they will find this a good addition to their crafts collections.

This book gave me the best ideas to make the finest papers I ever made. From the most rugged art to the finest and most delicate papers. This is to recommend to all advanced paper artists out there.
