I have not been in the crafts business long, and I must say I found this book far more informative than others offered online. Highly recommended for newcomers like myself.

This is a very good resource. It is easy to understand and use. However, don't make the mistake of also purchasing "The Craft Business Answer Book", by the same author. The description makes it sound like the book contains different information, but it doesn't. The covers are different, but the books are basically the same.

i found this book to be dry and not helpful for my home craft business purposes. It is now very much out of date also.

The primary audience for this book is craftspeople searching for business information.

This book contains business information pertaining to all craft media. The question and answer format covers specific issues such as Car Insurance, Minimum /Maximum Order Policy, Return Policy and Sales Representatives: topics that are often ignored in other books. Other important aspects of the text include suggestions for proper wording on your order forms and issues to address in your contracts. Resources are included for more in-depth information.

Sometimes the questions are media specific which can be good or bad depending if you feel it is relevant to your choosen art or craft materials. The book is a few years old and does not cover current issues about on line marketing through social networking sites.
