This book is a fantastic resource for anyone, beginner or otherwise. I had some experience with a few cratfs, but I was interested in others. I learned how to do fabulous stained glass projects that actally came out looking as good as (or better) than the ample photographs included with the easy-to-follow instructions. The basic skills learned for any of the crafts will make it easy to build on for more elaborate or difficult projects. Although this book was published many years ago, all of the information (and even most of the designs!) are still relevant, (i.e. materials available, etc.) WELL worth the money, as you will save time and frustration avoiding less helpful resources. Have fun!

Each craft such as winemaking, candlemaking, fabric printing, lapidary(cutting and polishing of gem stones), decoupage, painting.... is clearly explained with illustrations and easy instructions

This book is one of the best I have ever bought. I refer to it all the time. It cover's just about any craft you could want and shows picture's and instructions that even I could follow. Worth every penny I paid for it.

Teachers who need to instruct students in general crafts will find this book to be the absolute best. Good information on a wide variety of crafts. However, some of the projects described are entirely too ambitious for someone who is just beginning in the craft.

Even though this is an older book it is one of the best.

This book is loaded with a variety of crafts. Anyone who would like to try different crafts will certainly enjoy this book. I really do love it. It's easy to understand and the pictures are great.

When I found this book I was amazed to find that many of the classic glazes that have been used by potters firing at cone 6 in oxidation were in this book. It is a wonderful and accurate introduction to many crafts and would well serve as a primer for anyone interested in pottery. In fact I would say it was a necessary foundation. That is probably the case for most of the other crafts covered as well.

A lot of bang for your buck. An exceptional instruction book of over 40 crafts shown in detail, from leatherworking, candlemaking, basketry, stained glass, origami, quiltmaking, woodworking, wine-making, to book-binding, and more.

This book has the simplest instruction to just about every popular hobbie that one could imagine. More books should be like this one. Go Reader's Digest.
