Don't give up on this charger,

I typically don't take the time to review products I buy but I wanted to pass this information on to those that may become frustrated with this battery charger. This was the second charger like this that I had purchased after my original charger had failed and I was ready to give up and buy new batteries because I could not get the batteries to take a charge. Fortunately I had read online that these rechargeable batteries could be saved by giving the boost with a welder. After the batteries drain down so low after not being charged for days, these chargers will not charge them. To save yourself time and money, (and if you don't have a welder)just connect a standard 12 volt car battery charger to the proper plus and minus terminals on the drill battery (use a voltage tester to make sure you get the correct terminals). Just leave on the car charger for a few minutes until the battery "comes back to life". Then place the batteries in this charger (If the yellow "evaluating" light comes on, charge with the car charger some more). Once the red light on this charger is the only light on, your battery will be fully charged by morning). I have had no problems since I did this and both of my batteries work like new). Wish the instructions would have warned us about this before all the trouble!

Well first of all, there was NO OPERATORS MANUAL with this charger. That said, I needed a charger because my original just gave up. It works great although I wondered what the "yellow" light is supposed to indicate. You plug it in the wall socket, put the battery in the slot, and it charges. What else do you need. But I still wonder what that "yellow" light is for. LOL

Ordered as a replacement for my original charger. This one has additional LED's for charging and diagnostic.
My older version had problems with the conductor to the power supply, it most of them do.
