This tool set has been great so far.

The box is not safe for carrying because the doors will not stay closed if weight shifts when lifted.

As always with craftsman this is a good set of tools that work great and are durable.

I just purchased this set of sockets and wrenches from Sears and put them right to work assembling some new tools for my shop. I have no complaints about the quality of any of the sockets or wrenches. The plastic case is, well, a plastic case, nothing fancy but it certainly does the job. The only thing I can think of to point out is that I don't love that the wrenches are meant to just lay jumbled together on the topmost compartment, but honestly, it's not a big deal for me. Lastly, each tool has some strange words engraved into it that I've rarely, if ever, seen on other brands..."Made in USA"!

Purchased this at my local sears on sale for 2 Benjamins. Saved a little more by signing up for their credit card (heh).
The tools are standard Craftsman fare, father likes them just fine and with a lifetime warranty how can you not? The biggest flaw with this set is the case they come in. This case better than one of the other craftsman sets with the crumby socket holders, this if nice and molded all around for everything, but thick plastic. BUT, as I was carrying it out of the store by the carry handle, it broke, fell to the ground, and almost crushed my foot. The rest of the plastic case split open and it was generally a bad thing to happen. It literally happened about 20' from where I paid for it and the sales associate exchanged it right away for me.
Not sure if it was a fluke, but I will carry it by the 2 carry notched molded into the side of the case from now on.

This tool set has been great so far. Although it was missing the 1/2" drive 3/8 socket everything else has worked flawlessly.

GREAT KIT, BUT IF YOUR BUYING FOR A LOVED ONE AS A FIRST SET BUY HIM A SET OF SCREW DRIVERS WITH IT AND YOU WILL COMPLETE HIS SET.... Also a few socket extensions, and decent set of vice grips wouldn't hurt.

Wife got this for me after all my stuff disappeared great kit to get me back on track.... Just need a few more items to complete the set.

Dislikes- Case being snap latches leads the worry of premature failure but so far so good.

What would be awesome: If a metal version of this case would be sold... or a system that would accept these drawers without alteration.

After seeing almost the exact same case in person, I received it for Christmas. Much to my surprise, every single tool with one exception is made in China. This is not the Made in USA Craftsman tools you would expect. Exception was one bag of small wrenches that said "tools made in USA, bag made in China". The fit and finish fits the Chinese craftsmanship. I could buy tools with sharp edges, uneven depth stamped lettering and flaking chrome at Harbor Freight for a fraction of the cost. Avoid, and only buy Craftsman tools that actually say Made in USA if you want solid stuff. I'm returning it for the real thing. Check pictures...I'm uploading picture of the bar code (to show the 35255 model) along with the "Made in China" text.

I've had this set in my workshop for the last three years. I bought mine from Sears catalog on sale, so it was an extremely good price. I keep it on top of a rollaround base which holds a variety of other tools.

I've used them pretty hard since then and not broken a single tool. Craftsmen aren't the best, but they are servicable tools at reasonable prices.

The sockets are organized in three "drawers" one each for 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch sets both inch and metric. Each tool has its own marked location in the drawer, where it is held securely, but easily retrieved. The can be pulled out of the case so you can carry that particular set to your work. This is the best setup for tools - you can easily see if something hasn't been returned to its spot in the drawer.

The rest of the tools, allen wrenches, combination wrenches just sit in the open top of the box, which is less convenient - they just pile on top of one another

The plastic box is mostly good. I don't care for the little locking flaps on the front of mine that holds the drawers in place, but it works fine in my fixed location - I don't think it would be very comfortable to carry it around much.

Likes:
- This is a good variety of tools if you want to do automotive or general mechanical repair work. With the addition of some pliers and hammers and screwdrivers, you can do real mechanic work with these.

- Craftsman quality, craftsman warranty - mine haven't broke, but if they did you can return them for a replacement.

- Great price - I got mine on sale and for the breadth of the set it was a great value

- Plastic organizer drawers. A socket set isn't very useful with missing pieces, and the pieces are easy to lose.
