Product Description

Craftsman Mini Circular Saw for those who want the precision cutting ability of a circular saw in a lightweight portable power tool. The Craftsman Mini Circular Saw allows you to easily cut clean, straight lines on jobs in which a standard size circular saw would be awkward and heavy to handle. The compact design and sharp 3 in. blade make cutting thin pieces of wood a snap. The Mini even allows you to accomplish precision plunge cuts. The Mini Circular Saw has 2.8 amps of power and cuts at 2800 rpm (no load). The ergonomically designed soft grip handle adjusts to 3 different positions (0, 15, and 30 degrees). The Mini Saw also features a built in LaserTrac and LED light.

I was looking for a smaller saw to use in tight spots and for detail work. It is so cheaply made that the entire head twists in normal use, can't cut a straight line with or without a guide.
Pros- none
Cons- requires two hands to operate (even after I tried removing the plunge lock), on/off switch on the body of the saw is awkward. very cheaply made, the head twists so much that the blade cuts into the guard even when i try to be gentle. Blade guard completly covers the cut line, you can't see where you are or where you are going with the cut.

I use my trim saw mainly for cabinet and hardwood installations (Ive gotten out of some real jams with this thing)... It really comes in handy when you need to make a small/tight cut... Plenty of power and comes with a good blade... One thing I had to do however was remove the plunge control knob... It always seemed to get in the way for me and was just a real pain... The other thing that will really bother you is the fact that you can't see the blade... It makes it really difficult if you need to stop your cut at a certain point... If however you're ripping you material all the way across than it works great... Laser is accurate and bright... One reviewer said that he has problems with the head of the tool twisting (or something like that)... I'm not even sure what he means by that, but I've never experienced any problems and I use it fairly often... If there was a way for you to actually see the blade while you're cutting, I would have given this tool 4 1/2 stars...

I own 5 of these for my company.
The l.e.d. laser guide and light go out in under 6 months of daily use. The saw itself is light and manouverable but yes, made cheaply.
I like it cause it has a vacumm attachment and cuts drywall like butter. This is a good saw for mold remediation companys and water damage companys, other than that, its not for everyone.

I use this for cutting plunging cuts into hardwood flooring and also to repair Pergo flooring when I need to use a plunge cut to take out a section. It works perfectly for me.
