purchased this unit because I was familiar with the android system and my old sound bar broke...the sound bar works as well as any other cheap less than $100 sound bar but the android system updated almost as soon as the system was hooked up and hasn't worked since. It is impossible to keep it running long enough to try and do a set up on it, crashes almost immediately after boot, if it ever boots at all. The wireless mouse is expectedly cheap and since it is the only way to try and navigate the system also adds to the frustration...

UPDATE: I'm dropping my rating to 1 star. Every attempt to use this sound bar has been frustrating. Between the poor sound quality and the minimal utility of having an Android interface on the TV, this sound bar has to be one of the worst purchases I have made.

I purchased the Craig CHT918a Android Smart Bluetooth Sound Bar on a 1-day deal from an Amazon subsidiary. Unfortunately, it took me a while to get around to hooking it up, and I'm not sure if that other site lets you return something for just not liking it. Otherwise, I'd surely have returned this. I am using it with an older Samsung DLP HDTV. I sometimes have a hard time understanding voices over the background music in certain TV shows, so I was hoping this would be an improvement on the built-in speakers on my TV. It wasn't. Granted it was relatively inexpensive and doesn't include a subwoofer, so I wasn't expecting high end sound, but based on reviews of a similar model (CHT912) on Amazon, I was expecting better than what this device delivers. I thought the primary purpose of a sound bar was to bypass the sound of the TV and sound better than the TV. I would think any other features should be secondary. It may be cool that it has Android built in, but I already have an iPad on which I'd prefer to do most of the functions it offers, especially considering all text entry is using its wireless mouse on a virtual keyboard. I also already have Tivo and Roku and a Blue-ray player to connect the TV to the internet, so I don't need that either. I thought bluetooth would be good for streaming music from my iPhone, but again it needs to deliver decent sound for that, and the sound leaves much to be desired.
