I finally had to let my old cd alarm clock that was over 15 years old die. I find it hard to commit to new products, as I tend to keep them forever. So my search for a new bedside alarm clock began in February of this year. I knew I would not succumb to the ihome products particularly with Apple moving away the 30 pin chargers (so what's up with that anyway). I also detest those clocks with the gradual wake thing; I can set my own volume to wake up to, thank you. Additionally, my husband does have an ihome and it impossible to figure out how to work it. Thus I began my search. I found a clock from homedics with wonderful nature sounds to wake up. But its surface of the sun brightness and unit lightness forced every operation on the clock to be a two handed deal in order to not knock it over. My old alarm clock was a chunky cube but durable and easy for a one handed hit on the snooze (my favorite button on any alarm clock). Then I found this iCraig and measured it and saw the weight of it and jumped in. I just got it last night and it was a breeze to program. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS ALARM CLOCK. It is a beast, it is not design for those itty, bitty bedside tables but for my huge nightstand it is great! And this thing ain't moving. My cat could easily climb on it and over it without any harm. I won't knock it anywhere and the one handed snooze is easy. The amber display is a nice brightness but it does have a dimmer which is great too. I even woke to my ipod (5th gen) this morning without any problems. The sound is great quality and can be quite loud if desired. The alarm clock also has 20 presets available for radio stations, I mean, how cool is that! I don't even know 20 radio stations. So if you want an alarm clock with weight and fabulous features GET THIS CLOCK.Read more ›

Pros: Very good sound, plenty of volume for a normal room.
FM radio has very good sensitivity, much better than my Panasonic or my Sony.
Can go to sleep and wake to music from IPod, radio, or alarm- all with snooze.
Volume level of alarm/IPod/radio can be preset.
Two separate alarm/IPod/radio times.
Display shows which alarm, if any, are set.
No remote control to misplace.
Heavy enough so that it does not move when you push buttons.
Small compact size with large handle and battery (or AC) powered for portability.
Very reasonable price.

Cons: Lowest setting for display too bright for bedroom at night.
Flashing colon (whatever it's called between the hour and minutes) can not be set to steady state.
Style is not sexy, but takes up small space with large speakers and is easy to transport.
I would like to see buttons back-lit (I don't know of any radios that do this except car radios)

I would rate this 5 stars if the display could be dimmed lower and buttons back-lit.

P.S. After using this all year, I have to raise the rating to 5. Had to tape a piece of smoked plastic over display to cut down on intensity, but other than that it works great. Especially impressed that it keeps correct time, I have had a number of clock-radios that either gain or lose minutes, unbelievable. I keep an iPod Nano plugged in permanently, works great.

Make sure you save directions to set time and alarms, volume of alarms, type of alarms - I could not accomplish without the detailed instructions.

This thing has great sound for a clock radio. 2 watts is more than my guitar practice amp! (and that is very loud, lol) Very sturdy, and best of all it works with my ipod Classic. That was the selling point. Very few of the docking stations out there work with the old Classics, and this one does. Keep the handle up to support the heavy older ipods, though. Very nice.

It's so hard to find a alarm clock radio these days. All I wanted was an FM radio that can dock/charge my iPOD and this was the only one that didn't have terrible reviews. So far I really like this radio. This is no lightweight. The sound is great. Programming it could take a little getting used to. It has two separate alarm clock functions which I think it's pretty cool. It's sturdy and you can set it to wake you up with a beep, your ipod, or the radio. You can even set the volume of the beep. There are no dials to mess with, only buttons. My only complaint is that the snooze button is sitting right next to the other buttons. Instead of being a large bar across the top or something, it's kind of off to the side and only a few millimeters larger than the rest of the buttons so you might have to sit up to find it. It could be a good thing for someone that likes to hit the snooze a lot though.

Make sure you sync the time with your iPOD regularly or the time display will be off by some minutes.

Sturdy, easy to program (if you read the instructions). Sound is not too bad, gets a little rough with the volume up. Overall a decent rig.

Very durable and it sounds pretty good. The only thing is that I have to take the case of my iphone, other than that is a good buy.

As with all alarm clocks, sometimes navigating the controls took some getting used to. But the sound is great, the alarm is easy to set and, most importantly, it wakes me up.
