More convenient than a bandage,

I have chronic, running-induced groin injury. While this wrap hasn't fixed it, it has made treatment more convenient. Easier to wrap, unwrap, and clean than an ACE bandage. Recommend for recurring mild to moderate groin strains.

very supportive and helps provide relief. My only suggestion is to put a picture description, on wrapping it correctly, in the package. I had to go back to Amazon picture to remember how it should look when your finished.

On one hand, I really love this product. Post pregnancy, I've suffered from PSD (pubic symphysis dysfunction) and this strain support really helped isolate my inner thigh muscles so that they would contract less while walking. (Anyone who has experienced this type of pain understands how awkward it is to walk when your thighs are thoroughly tensed up.) Unfortunately, I cannot rate it highly because it began to fall apart after one week. The material used in the making is very soft -- to minimize chaffing -- which is wonderful, but, as a result, the velcro that secures the support tears it to shreds. Hope this helps you decide before you purchase!

One of the trusted ways an athletic trainer treats a groin strain is with spica compression. You basically take about 10 yards of ACE bandage and do a figure-8 wrap around the upper thigh and waist. It's not a particularly quick process. I found the Cramer brace to be a suitable and more convenient alternative to using 10 yards of elastic bandage. The brace is made of thick Neoprene, so it is rather bulky. The good news is that it is very supportive. The bad news is that it may be difficult to wear under your clothes. I wore mine over my pants, and it worked very well. The brace does sometimes become undone, but a small amount of athletic tape can solve that issue. Since my groin strain happened during the winter, I did not have the issue of excessive sweating under the brace. I am assuming since excessive sweating is not unusual under any Neoprene brace, it would probably had been an issue had my injury occurred during the summer.
I do have to agree with other reviews that it would have been nice to have pictures with the instructions. However, if you Google "groin spica", you can find some very informative videos on how to properly do a spica wrap. You do the same thing with the Cramer brace expect you are dealing with half the length of bandage.

I purchased this to help support my hip that I have chronic pain issues with after a hip replacement.I bought it with the intentions of being to wear it either over or under my work pants at my job to give me standing support. It worked fine for about a few days then it started to unravel or just come lose durning my work day. this is probably best to use at home where you can wear shorts or sweatpants. Not a reliable support for someone whom is somewhat active or just running errands. Would be better off using a cane or walker for support.

I was very fortunate that my doctor recommended the Cramer E6 Spica Wrap for my hip! I was walking with a limp and a lot of pain after doing damage to my gluteous minimus and medius muscles. I tried to wrap it myself everyday with an ace bandage, but the bandage would slip during the day and cut off my circulation as it got folded up around my waist and thigh. The spica wrap was so much easier to put on and wear. I wore it to school while I was teaching and no one knew that I had it on under my clothes for support. I would highly recommend this product. It is well worth the price!

For minor groin pulls or hamstring problems, this product has really helped me through the two hours of hockey each week. I actually purchased another one so both sides were fully supported. Excellent product, washability and value for your aching muscles.

Cramer products are usually high quality and do the job. But I'm afraid "one size fits all" doesn't include me at 6' 2' and 250 pounds. I rigged it another way that gives some support but it is not as effective as the way it is supposed to be wrapped.

This is a fantastic bit of kit that took some working out how to wear. It could do with being a little longer but (still) it offered great support when I needed it most. I had suffered a fall from a motorcycle and my hip took most of the impact. There was nothing available locally and having ordered it online through Amazon, I was wearing it and benefiting from its support within 3 days. Strongly recommended.

Can't get it to stay on,

I've spent an hour trying to get it on.... once I managed, it keeps falling off. Your product is "one size fits all" but your written instructions don't make sense when trying to put it on a medium size framed person. I started where it suggested, but it by the time I wrapped it around me, I had 'way too much left over. If I put the velcro where the instructions told, then there wasn't any support and the whole thing fell off. I think I wasted my money. |
