5.0 out of 5 stars The Cranberries are the best
The Cranberries show their talent with this great video. Dolores O'Riordan's vocals are so grand, she hits every note perfectly and all the songs are played so wonderfully good. It's no wonder that they've sold so many albums. This is one of the best live concert videos yet, (wait till their new one comes out in June). The Cranberries are the best band and this concert...

2.0 out of 5 stars More Lemons, than Cranberries--but I did really enjoy the "Zombie" performance.
I'm giving this Dvd only 2.5 stars because you have to be a die-hard Cranberries fan to avoid falling asleep during this snoozefest. It's like watching a high school band perform in the gymnasium. They use either red, blue, or green lighting to try to liven it up a bit, but it fails miserably. Mostly boring and lifeless--more dead, than live, this concert is dark, dreary...

5.0 out of 5 stars Bigger and Better on DVD, November 29, 2005

This review is from: The Cranberries - Live (DVD)
Any Cranberries fan MUST buy this DVD. I had the tape, but the DVD ROCKS! The sound is perfect and the video has greatly improved over the VHS tape. This is early, raw Cranberries playing on a small stage in front of a small crowd. Don't think the prodcution values are small-time, they are big-time. The DVD has a "jukebox" that lets you play the songs in any order you like...select all or just the ones you want to hear. See Delores do an Irish line dance on one of the tracks. You won't be disappointed buying this DVD.

5.0 out of 5 stars a musical Valentine, April 25, 2004
Taped from a live concert at the London Astoria 2 on February 14th, 1994, the center of attraction is the fabulous talent of Delores O'Riordan, as a singer, songwriter, and performer. In a simple flowing dress, and a red knit cap framing her angelic face, she has total command of the audience, whether prancing about on the stage or standing still and singing quietly.
O'Riordan wrote songs # 2, 5, 6, 9, 11 and 13 alone, and the rest are credited to O'Riordan and Hogan.
The song list is:
1: "Pretty"
2: "Dreaming My Dreams"
3: "Linger" (a hit that the audience joins for the chorus)
4: "Ridiculous Thoughts"
5: "Daffodil's Lament" (one of the loveliest and most musically complex songs in this set)
6: "How"
7: "Everything I said"
8: "Not Sorry"
9: "Waltzing Back" (this one is a vocal marvel !)
10: "Dreams" (this is the big one...the hit heard around the world)
11: "Zombie"
12: "Liar" (O'Riordan does a wonderful little jig during this song, and it is the "offical" end of the concert)
Encores:
13: "So Cold in Ireland" (perhaps my favorite song of the concert)
14: "Empty"
15: "Still Can't..."

The Cranberries are:
Delores O'Riordan, vocals and guitar / Fergal Lawler, drums / Noel Hogan, guitar / Mike Hogan, bass.
This is terrific concert footage of a great and unique artist; she is beautiful to look at, and magical to hear. Total running time is 65 minutes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for any CranFan!!, September 29, 1999
By A Customer
This video is excellent...when I first bought it, I watched it repeatedly...I have always been in awe by the Cranberries...of course, the video doesn't beat truly seeing them live, which I have done at least once on every tour. This is definitely a must have for any CranFan...it features songs from Everybody Else Is Doing It... and No Need To Argue, including the major hits, of course, like Dreams, Linger, and Zombie. It also includes a few songs that are not included on their CD's, such as Liar (from the Empire Records sndtrk), and So Cold In Ireland (an excellent song that can only be found on some of their singles). I'm hoping they will release another video that will include more recent songs as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tasteful home concert video, July 26, 1999
By A Customer
As I am a huge CRANBERRIES fan, I find it difficult to stand back and judge objectively, but please believe me when I say that this is one of the most tasteful home concert videos from a rock band that you will ever find. Dolores not only performs beautifully, watch as she politely responds to a marriage offer shouted from the audience. Not to be neglected are the performances from Noel, Mike, and Fergal, who while complimenting Dolores, manage to not fade into the backround.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great time capsule, July 4, 2000
This video captures The Cranberries at a moment in time. This was in early 94, when they were becoming huge in America and just before "Zombie" made them worldwide superstars. Much like U2's "Undder a Blood-Red Sky," it captures the band in all their purity. No theatrics, just the band playing in top form and Dolores O'Riordan emoting with moving honesty. Whether it's bitter ranting with "Not Sorry" or playful dancing with "Liar," this small concert covers all the bases. Also, "Liar" much like U2's "Party Girl" sounds better here than the studio version. It has much more energy. Overall it's a must-have for fans. But it can also serve to initiate newcomers into the fold. The Cranberries became "bigger and better" after this, but this video shows just why anyone took notice in the first place. All up-and-comers should emmulate this standard of minimalist performing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dolores is so passionate about her music, it's beautiful., June 23, 1999
By A Customer
Dolores' voice is angelic, as always, and she delivers this performance with awe-inspiring passion. She is beautiful, both inside and out, and the video brings a tear to my eyes every time I watch it. She has an amazing ability to make a simple word, such as empty, seem so complex and meaningful through her intonation and you can feel her pain with her and see the despair in her eyes. It is a beautiful performance from an outstanding young woman, not to exclude the boys though! Noel plays an astonishing guitar and, of all the boys, Dolores lingers around him the most often. Mike is only seen during a small portion of the video, not that he minds that at all, the low-key bassist turns out an applaudable performance. Fergal is the most energetic of the three and he is shown alot during Zombie and maybe once or twice during the other songs. But, honestly, Dolores id the best part. The video is evidence of her transformation from a self-conscious teen to an adult who is much more comfortable with herself and being on stage. She demonstrates this by sitting down on the stage during the middle of Ridiculous Thoughts, talking more frequently with her audience, dancing around the stage, getting the audience involved in her songs, and dancing the Irish jig(or something similar) during the guitar solo of Liar. Dolores is spectacular and this this video is, most definitely worth the money!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars You can't live without this!!!, December 17, 2001
By
This is a must have for any Cranfan!!! Certain songs sound even better live, like "Wanted" and "Dreams"!! For those who aren't familiar with the Cranberries, the band is nothing fancy....no backup dancers, pythons, or other gimmicks....they don't need to be. They've got these great songs and the singer actually SINGS!!! That's what their live show is all about, MUSIC, SINGING, and it ROCKS! Seems hard to believe in the days of Britney Spears, but it actually is possible to hold an audience simply by singing/playing an instrument if you've got TALENT for singing/playing an instrument! The Cranberries also do the ultra rare "So Cold In Ireland". The camera and sound are excellent, better than the front row! Get this now! Dolores even does a cute little jig during "Liar".

5.0 out of 5 stars The best live video ever made!, November 1, 2001
By
Adam (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews
This video is absolutely AMAZING! The Cranberries sound even better live than in the studio, not an easy feat for most bands. All the best songs from the first two albums are here, plus two rarities, "Liar" and "So Cold in Ireland". "Liar" is an absolutely addictive song you will turn it up and start dancing in your living room along with Dolores! "So Cold in Ireland" is a rockin masterpiece you will listen to over and over. "Pretty" opens the concert, with "Still Can't..." closing. An absolutely suberb version of Zombie, Dreams, and Not Sorry are also on herE. There are 15 songs in all. An absolute MUST for any cranfan alive!
