I bought four of these humidifiers - the FROG, PUPPY, CAT and SOCCER BALL. We set them up right away. The CAT and SOCCER BALL worked just fine. The FROG and PUPPY did not.

My husband is a mechanical engineer, so he opened up the PUPPY one first. The power supply had fallen off it's bracket (he found a loose screw inside) and had severed one of the wires attached to the fan assembly. He reattached the power supply and resoldered the wire. Now PUPPY works fine.

Then he took a look at FROG. The fan was unplugged! So he plugged it into the power supply, and now FROG works fine.

These units are very cute and safe for the kids. I like how easy they are to refill and are reasonably quiet. We have PUPPY in our room, and I do hear it "glub glub" during the night.

If you get one, try it right away. If it doesn't generate mist on the highest dial setting within 15-30 seconds, RETURN it immediately for a replacement (unless you have good help around the house like me!)

I picked this up in target for about 30 bucks or so and it's done it's job so far. The penguin's belly can hold about 1 gal and I usually set it on medium humidification for the night. This leaves about 1/2 tank full in the morning. The mist at the high settings is very high, so you can definitely get moisture into the air quickly. I used the walgreens sunbean model for about 1 day before it decided to break, so I hope this one will last.


Strengths:
simple to use, variable humidity control, easy to refill, no mold yet, enough mist for a small room

Weakness:
cheap contruction, no controls to stop from over-humidification

Read the reviews and picked the elephant for my 17m old child's nusery. I absolutely love it. Before this, my son could not sleep well with our "family's" humiifier because it was too noisy. Within an hour of bringing this home, it was set up (very easily) and he took one of many 2 1/2 hour naps that week! No filters, No noise, NO PROBLEMS thus far! I did have it on high for the first 20 mins and found a puddle of water underneath, but the humidifier was near a window, and i am asumming there was a draft that may have directed the steam toward the dresser top. (The problem was resolved once moved unto a different surfacetop) Filling it is a snap and the very fine mist (looked like small stream of fog) was a pleasure to see out of the trunk of the animal! The tank seems to last longer than the box states. It is on it's third day on a low/med setting and it still only has a 3 inch difference at the top. I love the safety features and I don't have to worry about the tank still on if it's empty since it has an automatic shut off! The light is not a problem since he likes to have a tiny bit of light in his room. It is a design that will last thoughout his childhood! Thank you Crane!

This little guy does his job pretty well, but is a pain to refill. It's pretty much every day or two, and it drips quite a bit when you lift it out to take to the sink. I would probably buy it again, but that has been a bit of a drag.

I have a high platform bed so I bought the elephant model so that the mist output will arc higher into my sleeping space. This little humidifier is a workhorse. I've had it on nearly 24/7 for the last month of so and it's been chugging away reliably. The one drawback is that when you take the reservoir with it's cover to refill, the condensations drips. A towel to cradle it took care of that. The hum is low and is a combination of a white noise machine and a tabletop fountain - a pleasant addition to drown out snoring and very condusive to sleeping. I've had an elaborate $160 Bionaire humidifier that didn't perform this well. This a great product and have recommended it to many friends.

It is a very good little humidifier. Easy to add water. Easy to clean. 1 gallon water is plenty for about 10-15 hours for maximum vapour. Any way I am happy having it in the Utah desert.

Pros:
-Very affordable
-Cute. Kids love it
-No filter needed
-Quiet (but you will hear occasional bubbling sounds)

Cons:
-This kind of humidifier really is not very effective. Particularly if you have a large room. A lot of people have actually measured the difference in the humidity and you are lucky if you be able to bump up the humidity by 3%.
-This is cold mist and cold mist tend to go down to the floor. If you turn the setting high, you will notice your floor or carpet in the vicinity is wet. Place it close to your heater vent so the air from your hvac will help circulate the mist better. Unlike vaporizer which is a form of steam, steam tend to go up and circulate much better. The problem with vaporizer is they produce very little steam.
-Whenever you refill water, it always leak. The way you replace water is by lifting the head.

you can't go wrong for the money. I purchased this for my sons over a year ago and when I noticed how well it worked I bought another for myself. I can tell you that if I forget to place it on for a night in the morning I'm all stuffed up and have a headache. I checked out other similar products that do the same which were priced well over 100 dollars. Yeah filling can be tricky but if you tilt the water tank backwards before lifting it out of the base and let the water drip into the base you should be fine.

I had a terrible head cold and needed a humidifier asap. Picked this up and it did the trick. Now I'm glad I have it for when I run the heater in the winter and it gets so dry. I used to wake up congested when I ran the heater all night, but not anymore when I run this. One tank lasts at least 2-3 nights of use. It is kind of precarious to refill - you have to be very careful carrying it to avoid spilling the water that collects on top - but other than that it's SO easy to use. VERY quiet, too. Every so often it will "gurgle" but other than that it runs silently. It doesn't take up a lot of space, and it's cute too!

I just got one of this humidifiers (panda shape). It is very cute and work fine. Easy to clean, you don't need filters.
Humidifier came in secure package and was in a great condition. It's very simple to use! Just put water inside, plug it in and thats it! It starts produse cool mist right away!:) It is quiet! I am going to buy one more.
