3.0 out of 5 stars Silver Crane Suzu Bell, October 26, 2010

Well, I have this in yellow brass, but thought I would order one in silver to de-bling my bike a bit. I bought 2, one for me and one for a friend. That nice sweet mellow sound? Well, it's much sweeter and mellower on the solid brass one. I don't know if this is plated brass or steel. Regardless, the sound isn't as sweet, but it's still a nice bell. I highly recommend, but with reservations. I'd order the yellow brass model. In yellow brass, this is definite 5 star item. Silver gets 3 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bell is Sick., March 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered this bell to put on a Beach Cruiser that I'm working on.

I had no idea how awesome it would be in person. It's fantastic.

Let's start with the first piece of awesomeness. The bell is made completely of metal. There are ZERO plastic parts on this baby!! That's definitely a plus. It's solid construction and the overall product looks amazing.

Second piece of awesomeness. The sound. Wow. It's loud and in charge. I couldn't believe how loud it was when I got it. It's got a great sound, too. I really wasn't expecting it to sound this loud and good both at the same time. Great.

Overall, the product is amazing and looks fantastic on my Beach Cruiser. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars ultra nice bike bell - hurrah !!!, September 4, 2009

It's me (center of the universe) - See all my reviews
i recently got a new bike and needed a whole set of goodies to make her look super-duper. well, how hard can it be to get a bike bell these days ??? (insert chortle here) darn hard, folks, that's what. i went through a whole bunch of modern it-comes-anyway-you-like-as-long-as-it-has-plastic bike bells. i guess every bell these days is bought by racers since they're all light weight and flimsy. and you can measure how long they last before they break in microseconds. well, imagine my surprise when i came across this little gem. it's solid metal - i think the bell top is brass. and looks as if it'll last until the end of time. not a drop of plastic anywhere. the ring sounds not very traditional by american standards if you're used to those vintage schwinn bells- sorta asian (duh !) gosh, it's made in japan ! i keep wondering every-time i ring the darn thing if i'm gonna attract a whole swarm of monks ... but, it sounds sweet once you get used to it, it's reliable and easy to use and it sure looks pretty on ol' betsy. ride on...
