This is one of the best home, mobile, or RV WiFi Antennas made. The Super USB WiFi Antenna 3 plugs into your computer for powerful WiFi Internet reception. Installation is a snap and performance is outstanding. While testing it in our small town of Fortuna, California we were able to see an additional 20 wireless networks. On average, users can get 300 to 400 feet even through several walls. In further tests we were able to connect to a small wireless router from over 100 yards away, keeping 80% signal strength through several walls and obstructions. In one of our tests we even connected to a network a mile away. You may be surprised at what the Super USB WiFi Antenna 3 can do for you.

 

The antenna incorporates a water resistant design for outdoor use (IP65 Rated), along with wireless “N” technology for lightning fast file transfers with your “N” router. It comes with a 15-foot USB split cable that offers two plugs to your computer, although normally one plug is sufficient for powerful reception. The antenna mounts easily to a window with suction cups or to the wall using the lanyard and "hook and loop" mounting strip. If you are trying to receive a very distant signal from outdoors, then the best place for mounting the antenna is above the peak of your roof so that signals can be received from miles in every direction. A cable tie is included for pole mounting outdoors. You can purchase an additional 30-foot USB cable so that you can mount the Super USB WiFi antenna on a roof, a mast or in a window.

So I'm in the oil & gas business, and I'm currently working in the foothills of some mountains. Needless to say, the wifi signal I was picking up from the neighbor was giving me 1, maybe 2 bars of signal. Most of the time, if I needed to send an email or download a file, I would have to walk out in the yard to get a consistent signal. I looked online for a while (in the front yard) at wifi signal boosters, enhancers, repeaters, etc. Then I came across this. I did not have much faith, as every single wifi enhancing product had at least a couple of awful reviews. But I gave it a shot, got it delivered next-day, and I just plugged it up to my pc. I am very happy to announce that I am sending this review from my desk - No need to go out in the yard. In fact, my signal went up from 1/2 bars to full signal. Full. That's pretty amazing. Yeah it's more expensive than other options, but you get what you pay for. A Lexus is going to perform better than a Saturn.

I own the C.Crane Super USB Antenna 3 - and the Alpha Networks 802.11b/g Long Range Wireless USB Adapter Model AWUS036H - the one with the flat rectangular antenna you can rotate.
The Crane antenna works well as an OUTSIDE antenna preferably on top of the roof while the Alpha is a superior performer INSIDE next to your computer.
Side by side the Alpha picks up more signal because it is a DIRECTIONAL antenna with an amplifier. The Crane is an OMNIDIRECTIONAL antenna with no signal amplification.
After mounting the Crane Super on the roof of my 2 story duplex I got
20 hotspots
6 registered 5 bars (excellent) and 8 registered 4 bars (good)
The Alfa sitting next to my windows 7 netbook on the ground floor picked up
10 hotspots
3 registered 4 bars (good)

This Antenna works excellent. I live in a rural area in hilly Tennessee and wanted to receive a signal inside my detached garage with a lot of metal on the roof and walls . Not only did I pick up my signal strong but also several others that were at least a mile away still inside the garage . Super strong, will bring in the hard to get signals .
