Cranium Bloom's Let's Play and Cook caught my eye instantly with the fun chef movers and Cook Book, though there are only 8 recipes to build and the game play is quick. (Which could be a plus!)The object of the game is to collect tokens to make a recipe which includes spaghetti and meatballs, PBJ, and chocolate chip cookies to name a few. Throughout the recipe cards there are kitchen safety tips, a table setting guide, and even a fun way to tell how old an egg is.

I played it with my 5, 7 and 10 year old who seemed to enjoy if the few times we went through it, but it is really geared toward preschoolers. Even though this is a preschool game, it lends itself to talking about healthy food choices, especially when you get to choose a different ingredient to add to your recipe. Included are ideas to put new twists on this game to vary game play and its educational value.

Since the other reviewers mentioned the object of the game I will not repeat them.
I too loved this game and was attracted to the educational fun of it! I have other Cranium products so I knew about the company. I am able to play this with my 4 1/2 year old and we have a lot of fun. My only problem is that the game board will not lay flat. Meaning that it teeters as we are going around the board. This is annoying. Considering this game was more expensive than the traditional games (memory, candyland, hi ho cherry o, ect.) I expected a better product. All in all though a fun game.

My kids, who are 4 and 5½, were very excited to play the Cranium Bloom Let's Play Count and Cook Game! It's easy for preschoolers to play and doesn't require reading to play! The object of the game is to collect the right tokens to build a recipe. The "cookbook" that comes with the game includes 8 recipes to build, including chocolate chip cookies, fruit salad and spaghetti. It only takes 5-10 minutes to complete a recipe, which is great for short attention spans! Throughout the cookbook are bonus tips, fun facts, and how to set a table, too.

The game also includes ideas to put new twists on the game to give it some variety and keep it fresh. The way we've been playing the game, there's not one winner - we all win when we complete our recipe! I really enjoy that during this time when my children are quite competitive.

It would be nice to have more than 8 recipes included in the cookbook, but if you're creative you could invent your own.

All in all, this is a fun way to "cook" without making a mess in the kitchen. The kids had a great time playing Count and Cook with Mom and just with each other! Thank you, Cranium, for yet another great game!
