the debut album from Barstool Prophets is absolutely great. If your a lyrics person, you'll be totally impressed. If you just like great rock, this album rocks.Highly recommended. And if you like this, you'll LOVE their next album.."Last of The Big Game Hunters". Perhaps the most underratted Canadian band (besides Odds).

5.0 out of 5 stars A Superb Musical Effort....., January 5, 2007
This review is from: Crank (Audio CD)
...and then some! Marvelous lyrical vocals and superb guitar rhythms! Once again,...it never ceases to amaze me how much "virtually" unknown talent there exists out there! Whilst in the midst of listening to this album, I went online to Amazon to acquire other musical "accompli" by the "Prophets" but, much to my chagrin,...none other/s exist! I simply, cannot fathom why?!? What a great band! What a SUPERB MUSICAL EFFORT!

5.0 out of 5 stars This Album Cooks!, July 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Crank (Audio CD)
Classic guitar riffs, very tight crisp band, and wonderful lyrics that tell a disturbing saga. The threading of songs throughout the cd is of journeyman quality. I loved it from first listen! Wish this band all the best in the future as they display excellent musical ability on Crank. What more can I say...Rock On Canada!!!

Luckily, I live close enough to Canada to have heard of these masterful musicians. Great crisp, clean guitar rock with great poetry behind the album. I'm waiting impatiently for their next piece of work.

This band rocks, that's cause their Canadian... They are {i think} a cross between The Tragically Hip & Pearl Jam... But slower, but not sappy..
