I purchased two 3-Packs of these lanterns 2 years ago (October 2008), but not through Amazon. Upon opening them to use them for the first time one of them did not function properly (would not hold a charge when using the crank handle). After using them one time that month I put them away until this year (October 2010). When I attempted to use the crank handle to charge them up 2 of the remaining 5 had crank handles that were frozn up and could not be turned and ultimately broke. Two others would not hold a charge (the same condition as the one coming out of the box for the first time). This leaves 1 functioning lantern out of 6 after one use. I

sent Viatek a message indicating the same information as I have provided here and indicated that I knew there was not going to be any kind of warranty coverage but that I wanted them to know what a poor product they are selling and that I would never recommend them to anybody. I never received any kind of reply or even some kind of apology from them. WARNING: Do not buy this product!!

Bought three of them and it was truly a waste of money. A tealight candle is brighter than these lanterns.
