This is the exact same version as originally released on the Playstation. I have always loved Crash Bandicoot and it never gets old playing it. It is just a classic that I will probably always enjoy playing. It's fairly cheap to download and you can even play it on your PSP via remote play.

I can still remember every detail about the first time I played Crash Bandicoot 2. I was 7. My parents bought me my first very own game console, the Playstation, and had kept it a secret from me. One day, they spent the day with me keeping me distracted while Dad hooked it up. Then they surprised me by walking me into the room it was in, with Crash Bandicoot 2 playing on the old tube Television. Oh man, was that the start of something beautiful. I had the paperback guide to this game (which became super worn from use). I collected every crystal, every emerald, every gemstone, every possible extra collectable and challenge I beat. I literally played through everything this game has to offer, again and again.

Sorry for that nostalgia fest there. To be the objective reviewer now, this is arguably one of the best, if not thee very best, platformer that ever came out on the original PSX (alongside greats like Spyro the Dragon and Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, other favorites of mine). You can tell, even back in the day, that Naughty Dog was a very special developer in gaming (they went on to create the Jak & Daxter series, as well as the now incredibly acclaimed Uncharted games). This game squeezes every last drop of power out of the PSX, and it is beautiful for it. Environments are very colorful, varied, and remarkably detailed and designed. It blows most other PSX games out of the water, only trumped by later Crash Bandicoot games. The AI is quite good. The game strikes a perfect balance in difficulty. It has a ton of variety to do in each level, which is amazing considering each level really follows the pattern of being a long corridor shape. Crash 2 has tons of humor and charm. It's just an amazing game, and worth at least three to four times what they're asking for the download code. It's a steal of a deal. Buy it, enjoy it, appreciate the greatness that is Crash Bandicoot 2!
