Evil is at an all-time decline, so Crash's arch-nemesis Dr. Neo Cortex is designing the ultimate weapon: Crunch, the extra-evil-bio-engineered-super-bandicoot! In order to complete Crunch, the good doctor needs more power--the kind of power that only evil, renegade voodoo masks can provide. Enter the Elementals.
Set free by the evil voodoo mask Uka Uka, the Elementals control various aspects of the environment. They are so powerful, and so dangerous, that they almost destroyed the Earth once, and were sealed in special crystals to protect the Earth from certain doom. Uka Uka believes that by harnessing the power of these evil masks, Dr. Cortex will have all the power he needs to complete Crunch, and finally finish off Crash.
So once again Crash returns to his crystal-collecting, box-bashing, bad guy-spinning ways. Can he stop the masks? Will he defeat Crunch? Only time, and your weary game-playing hands, will tell.
The Wrath of Cortex is the hardest game in the series' history. There are 30 levels, seven different vehicles, bonus levels, and a time-trial mode. As you progress through the game, you fight five bosses. Each time you defeat a boss, you unlock a new move (double jump, bazooka, tiptoe, Crash dash, and death tornado). Although the coolest feature is that you get to play as Crash's sister Coco on some levels.
The game is good, but is it perfect? The graphics are solid, but not much of an improvement over the PlayStation2 version--the game definitely doesn't take full advantage of the Xbox's hardware. Also, the long load times for levels can be annoying. Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex was not developed by Naughty Dog, the company that started the series. The game, while faithfully following the traditional feel of the series, misses some of the polished quirkiness that Naughty Dog is known for.
Bottom line: The Wrath of Cortex is a great game for all ages, and will give you 40 or more hours of solid gameplay. --Bryan Karsh

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex (Video Game)
Crash is a game where the goal is basiclly to get through each level and defeat the bosses. The graphics are a little better than the ps2 version. Also there are 30 levels and many vehicles to controll. After you defeat the fifth boss you could try getting all the gems and relics. That's what makes the game more interesting and last longer. Plus the loading times are much faster. So if you're an old Crash fan this addition to the series should be quite fun especially because you can play Coco fully, not just on vehicles and because of the new vehicles Crash can controll. If this is your first time and you like games with simple rules yet are fun and challenging(Not to challenging to [upset] you..., yet not to easy to get you bored), then get this game.

Nice, Fun, Family Game,

Crash is almost a must-have on the Xbox. It's fun for everyone in the family (my 7 year old played it without a problem - but younger kids may not be able to). It will keep you busy for a while (there are about 25 different levels to fight through, plus 5 "bosses" - and you can revisit levels to get more lives or other bonuses). There's almost no learning curve. It's just plain old fun! If you liked Fuzion Frenzy, and you don't mind single player games, then you'll like Crash. Some complain that it's graphics aren't breakthrough - but they are certainly sufficient for you to clearly see what is going on. The only real complaint: I wish there were a 2 player mode.

Same Crash New Developer Pretty Graphics and Some Suprises,

First sitting I was worried that i just wasted 50 bucks.The game feels very diffrent than playing Naughty Dog CRASH.The reason it feels strange is cuz this game was developed by Travelr's Tales.Wich means the artistic value is kinda missing, the controls feel a little weird at first, also the camera seems akward...So i was not really enjoying this version of CRASH. But I kept playing and sure enough started to love it (got used to the change)...there are some sweet suprises thrown in. If your a returning crash fan looking for CRASH for the year 2000 get Naughty Dog's new baby ((jak and daxter)) on PS2...But if you just want a new Crash with richer graphics gET THIS GAME.Or if your someone who has never played crash and have an xbox go and buy it. This is only the FIRST next generation CRASH and I can't wait for more...I think CRASH will still be a cool game for the next 5 years. this game is kinda slow but is really fun at times!...you heard it from Lunar Larry 2115|R6AZCO3XDBF7W;2115|R2PHHOQ2QK3VAK;2115|RBSTKB4CQKNQ2;
