Definitely A Great Book!,
By Katherine E. Coleman (East Amherst, New York United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Crash Course in Love (Hardcover)
I finished this book in about 2 1/2 hours (rented it from my local library) and I am very happy with the results. I've read other dating books ("He's Just Not That Into You", "Don't Be That Girl", and "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man") and while they're good, there have been things in those books that I don't agree with. This is a book where I believe that Steve and JoAnn really hit the nail on the head. I think we are so consumed with hanging onto dates that don't give us females the time of day, and also over-texting and giving out too much information on a first date. This book really takes it back to the way dating should really be. My favorite line was about not being picky, but knowing what you want subjectively. Also, I love how they talk about not devaluing yourself. It's definitely a confidence booster for those females who wonder what they're doing wrong. It's hard not to read this book and go, "Oh, i've done that...oops." and learn from your mistakes. Anyway, this is a great book and I will definitely reccommend it to all of my friends.

good book, great condition,

I got this book very quickly after ordering. It was in perfect condition. The book is alot of common sense information but I have just gotten out of a 17 year relationship and needed a little boost. The book is written to be easy to read and follow with lots of comical inserts. I loved the show and I love the book. It was a great "dating refresher" for someone who has been out of the game for so long. Really helped me recognize and realize some annoying things I do and habits that I have (although I hate to admit it...lol)

Too Vague, Not as Good as the Show,
By Emily (Cambridge, MA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Crash Course in Love (Kindle Edition)
In watching Tough Love I am impressed with Steve Ward. Now I think he should stick to match making instead of writing books. For example, in the book he says "Be yourself, but do not reveal too much, too soon." True, but not very helpful. In the show I think he's got a skill for knowing when and how to reveal things but this doesn't come across in the book because it really depends on the situation.

I loved this book,

If you are a fan of the TV Show, you will love this book. It basically puts all Steve's "rules" in a book. Some of the points are common sense, and some are things that make you stop and think.
My only qualm with the book is its price...too expensive if you ask me.

Could have been better,

I really enjoy watching the show and was excited to read the book. The book was not what I was expecting. It's like an easy read book and didnt give me much information. On the show, Steve sometimes points out his "rules" but the book didn't go over his rules, which I was hoping it would have.

I love the show, but didn't care for the book. Pretty much if you don't know what's in this book, you're a moron lol. Come on, the rule "Dont be Weird"? Do people need to be told this?
It's also a small, short, book.

A Must Read for Any Young Woman,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Crash Course in Love (Hardcover)
This book is an easy read--I read it in about 3 hours--yet full of useful information from a GUY's point of view. I've read lots of different relationship books written, mainly, by women, for women...but this one gave honest, straightforward information from a MAN. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting a new view of things, from teens who are just starting to date to women newly back on the market and everyone in between.

As a fan of tough love I had to buy the Wards' book. It was definitely smaller than I thought but the formatting makes it easy to read it really quickly and really soak in their advice. The only thing is, if you watch the show it almost makes it pointless to buy the book because they give you a lot of their tips on Tough Love. Overall, I would still buy it knowing that.

Initial meeting, their job, is mainly covered.,

Concentrates mainly on the initial meeting phase of a relationship. Too bad these books can't fix the problem that in a society where we are taught that "everything goes" you meet so many at risk weirdos that you should avoid. It can be hard to determine who is too out of line and who is not.

Nice reading, nothing new,

I have never watched the TV show, so I did not know what to expect. The book is just OK, but easy and enjoyable to read. It has both the male and female perspective, and that is always great. It is well written, simply organised, and has good advice. However, it is nothing new. Something you have already heard/read gazillion times if you have ever used any dating and relationship book. What I call granny's recipe, a bit revamped, which is great for modern generation-Y girls who have lost all that knowledge we used to get. But nothing really new or wow.
