Crash? What Crash!?!,
By
This review is from: Crash: When UFOs Fall From the Sky: A History of Famous Incidents, Conspiracies, and Cover-Ups (Paperback)
It's hard to believe there are nearly 200-300 claims of UFO crashes around the world golng back for the past few hundred years. Sure the more famous ones are known to many in the UFO community, like Roswell, Kecksburg and Shag Harbour, but it's the lesser known reports that really got me thinking. The author did an excellent job of catalouging the events, the witnesses, the evidence, the coverups and the hoaxes. The book was very well written and can simply be described as a page turner that I couldn't put down.

This book contains some great research and new information! No one is better than Kevin Randle at sniffing out all the dead ends and hot leads on UFO cases. He does a great job in this book noting which UFO cases are "genuine" and others that people should not be wasting their time on. My only suggestion for his next book is that he make the photos a little more useful; small B&W photos of the crash sites all looked the same. A middle portion with color photos would have been nice.

From eyewitness testimony to paper trails to ongoing controversies,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Crash: When UFOs Fall From the Sky: A History of Famous Incidents, Conspiracies, and Cover-Ups (Paperback)
UFO investigator and retired lieutenant colonel Kevin D. Randle presents Crash: When UFOs Fall from the Sky, a collection of research reports of alien spaceship crashes from 1947 and earlier to 2009. A handful of black-and-white photographs illustrate this thoughtful, updated compendium of paranormal evidence and theory, which suggests possible solutions to some of the longest running enigmas about the possibility of extraterrestrial influence. From eyewitness testimony to paper trails to ongoing controversies, Crash: When UFOs Fall from the Sky is an invaluable compendium for anyone interested in learning about evidence of UFOs, and a welcome addition to paranormal studies shelves.

Crash: History of UFO crashes,
This review is from: Crash: When UFOs Fall From the Sky: A History of Famous Incidents, Conspiracies, and Cover-Ups (Paperback)
As usual Kevin does an excellent job both research and writing. He covered all the major crashes in detail; along with lesser known supposed crashes. The book convinces me there have been ufo crashes, just not 300 of them like some lists claim. Honestly, if there had truely been 300 crashes in the last 60 yrs that would add up to be 5 a year. If that was really the case I would suggest ufo designers rethink their designs or something. I think the best part of the book for me was he took the time to tell the readers why he thought something was or was not a hoax. Being ex-military and a pilot himself he really has good insight that those of us on the outside looking in just cannot have. My only complaint or suggestion really to Kevin would have been to mention the 1980 Cash-Landrum case. Since this case involved military helicoptors, I would have like to have had his take on this case. That was my only disappointment. Overall, excellent book and I would highly recommend.

The book is very interesting to read. It amazes me why so much of the truth is hidden from the public. All the fakes kind of tells me that it's a way for the government to smear the reality of other beings in this universe. I gave it a four because after reading 3/4 of the book, it starts sounding the same over and over just different incidents. I started to lose some interest towards the end of the book. But for the most part, I'm very happy I bought and read this book!

Randle Does it Again,

This review is from: Crash: When UFOs Fall From the Sky: A History of Famous Incidents, Conspiracies, and Cover-Ups (Paperback)
It is so refreshing and nice to read a book on UFO's where the author actually give's you names, places and times of the events in question.
So very few books on this topic have authors of Randle's education, status and stature. No new age horse hockey here, just real and accurate information regarding UFO's that have crashed, might have crashed or didn't crash. If the reader is one of those who finds a conspiracy behind every rock, then he/she will probably not like this book. Doctor Randle is not afraid to tell the reader that a crash was a hoax if that's where the evidence leads. He gives it to you in a very readable format that is heavy on common sense and lacking any flowery garbage about the alien's are here to help us from ourselve's shlock. Motives, means and opportunities are absent here and the reader must think for himself. These are the facts 'mam as Sgt. Joe Friday would say, but it's not a dry or boring read at all. In fact it's a very exciting read and quite a page turner, as have been all of Kevin Randle's books on this topic.

I feel the title is overblown and hints at some deep government attempt to control all the news of UFOS. Just gives history of UFO reports and gives likelihood of whether legitimate or crackpot.

One thing I have noticed about so many books out there on UFOs and like minded subjects is the authors tend to be very speculative on the subject. Some actually describe underground bases manned by ETs and even tell us how many species are out there (Heinz 57). But when it gets down to the evidence to support such claims, the author ends up lacking any. Hearsay, fuzzy photographs and unnamed sources make up most of the evidence. That is why I like Kevin Randle: He actually looks for the evidence and is not afraid to report that none really exists or that the incident in question needs much more solid research to come up with anything. His book Crash: When UFOs Fall From the Sky is evidence of some solid research. The vast majority of cases in the book are ones we have heard before, and are put in the categories of not enough information or possibly a variation of another incident. A good number are called hoaxes, and some of those calls will upset many who research them (Aztek and Aurora Texas are among them.) Dr Randle actually visited Aurora before all the programs and claims made about it showed up later, and found no persons who could recall a crash. Also, he did not find the mysterious grave stone marker when he visited the area before it was alleged to disappear. All this does not mean Dr Randle has no good cases in the book, but he does show that too many researchers hang on to cases that should be let go. He also goes into detail on some of these hoax cases to give all the research indicating why they are labeled as such. While many cases just do not have enough evidence to say they are crashes, (he states they need much more research) Dr Randle does have three very strong cases he makes in the book: 1. Roswell NM 2.Las Vegas Nevada (1962) 3. Kecksberg PA (1965) Dr Randle gives excellent points and the evidence for the above three cases. Also, there are a few other cases that are good but need some more research and verification. The idea of books like this is to get us to think and open our minds. They also get us to look for evidence to support other cases and question those that have holes in them. Many call Dr Randle (and others like him) a skeptic or a debunker, but he does support the ET hypothesis. However he is not afraid to call things out as he sees them. And that is a great thing ufology (and other paranormal subjects) needs right now.

This was one of those annoying instances when I bought a book thinking it was about one thing and it turned out to be something entirely different. First off, after reading the book I decided a more appropriate title would be, "A history of ufo crash hoaxes", since Mr. Randle takes great pride in trying to convince you that just about everything and everyone associated with crashed ufo's is a hoax or a hoaxer. He isnt interrested in giving you stories and reports, he is more interrested in showing you his prowess at finding contradicting statements from witnesses, discrepencies in reports and spent quite a bit of time assassinating the character of just about every ufo investigator that isnt named Kevin Randle. Apparently he is the sole intelligence in a sea of bumbling idiots, liars and charlatans. The simple fact that he refers to the Project Blue Book files on more then one occasion as a source of solid reference on the subject forces me to question his motives because even an interested amateaur on the subject such as myself knows the Blue Book Files that are available to the public are the watered down reports that could easily be explained away, thats why they were made public. I think being a former military official has clouded or at the least impared his judgement on the motives of the military and government of this country. In other words, Mr. Randle believes everything his government tells him.
This could have been a great book and a fun read but it was neither. I simply grew more and more frustrated and agitated with him with every passing chapter. Iam glad i bought this book used and didnt waste my money on a new copy. I will not be wasting any more of my money or time on any of his books.

ALL those crash landings and no.......!,

This review is from: Crash: When UFOs Fall From the Sky: A History of Famous Incidents, Conspiracies, and Cover-Ups (Paperback)
According to the author, there has been hundreds of UFO crash landings over the whole earth, and yet (per me), not one piece of evidence of any space ship has ever been recovered and shown to the public! No relics, no strange metals, no ET bodies, NADA! By this time, SOMETHING would have shown up by now. I really believe that there is life out there, but crazy stories of HUNDREDS of UFOs crashing left and right, and yet, no evidence to show to prove that all these crashes happen! As we all know now, Randle himself has dismissed many of the so-called, Roswell witnesses as being a bunch of outright liars. Some were worse than others, and thought they were slick in telling their false tales about Roswell. I laugh as I now think of all the frauds in the Roswell story: Glen Dennis, Frank Kaufmann, Gerald Anderson, Walter Haut and his Last Testament that he didn't even compose before dying, it was put together by Don Schmitt (Randle's former UFO partner), etc., etc., the sorry list of shame, just goes on and on folks. NO, I don't believe for one second that those crashes ever happened. Maybe someday, but not today! Still, Look Up at the SKIES people, your Salvation cometh!
