5.0 out of 5 stars Crash Kings grabs your musical soul, August 2, 2009
Crash Kings grabs your musical soul in ways that few rock groups are able to pull off. The versatility of the two brothers, Antonio and Michael, as well as Jason Morris is at a musical level of such a high caliber as to defy explanation - except to say that each musical piece is a masterpiece of its own. No two numbers mimic each other. But more than that, you must listen carefully to each musical instrument to understand what is at play here. All three "kings" are truly accomplished musicians. Check out their MySpace site to listen and see all their videos to get what I'm talking about. You will definitely be impressed if you care about quality. Antonio's voice has a passion and emotional lift that is truly impressive and "real". Although the chorus in each composition is well-exploited to its fullest, you won't find a weakness in any other part of the song. All parts tie together extremely well. But more than that, each song sends you sailing to new heights. There is nothing mediocre or bland about this music. Michael's deft use of the bass to create a dominant, yet supporting role with unique bass sounds is truly imaginative and appealing. Jason Morris is not their other brother? Who could tell? He is so good that one would think that he grew up playing the drums with this band. The chemistry is so good as to be almost scary. But I'm loving every bit of it. Listen to Crash Kings, then go ride a roller coaster. You won't find a more thrilling experience in your life. I love this band and see them soaring to new heights in future albums. America has a special place for them in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crash Kings Rock, May 31, 2009
I purchased this CD last week a couple of days after it was first released. I heard the band on iTunes & fell instantly in love. I was surprised to later learn that the band lacks a lead guitar - three guys create this sound all on their own. Guitar Rock w/o the guitars?! Just a guy on keyboards, drums, & bass. Sounds impossible but this is one of the elements that makes Crash Kings so original. The band is from L.A. and they are nothing short of awesome.

As of today (5/31/09), the only two places that appear to offer this debut CD are Amazon and iTunes. I vouched to order my copy from Amazon just b/c I like having the original CD & case versus burning the songs to disc and converting the format. Just my personal preference.

If you are looking for something new in the Rock genre, I highly recommend checking out this band. I have no doubt we'll be seeing more of them in the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars Crash Kings - Self Titled, September 24, 2009

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Here we have a very good debut CD of some excellent indie rock. The music is very lively and upbeat and features well done compositions. I'm not a huge fan of the vocalist because there were multiple occasions where his voice got away from him and it didn't sound very good, but for the most part he was fairly solid. If you like your rock music more upbeat than you could do a lot worse. This CD may not be perfect but it's a very good effort and I definitely enjoyed it.
