I lived with Tom every step of his way. He needed to get away from his father and find out for himself if he really wanted to marry Louise. Nina's temperment amused me. How often many of us feel like giving someone a good tongue lashing. She always seemed to feel better after one of her tantrums. I lived every moment with Tom and Nina after their plane crash. The conversations in the book are entertaining and sometimes hilarious. This is a very good compassionate and geographic novel, worthwhile reading. I am looking forward to reading Peter Hills next novel.

This book starts out by pitching you straight into the thick of the action and once you're there, the author doesn't let you go. The writer makes you feel like you were right there in the desert alongside Tom (the protagonist)and Nina, (the female pilot) sweating and struggling every foot of the way. Each step he takes, each bead of sweat that froms on his brow, the writer makes you think they might be your own. This is a story that you wished would go on. This is a book, that for me, ended too soon. I didn't want it to stop.

What a great read! Action, drama, humour, it has it all. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down.
