5.0 out of 5 stars The boys from Down Under Rock!, July 24, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Crashpalace (Audio CD)
I just recently saw Crashpalace in concert, and they rocked. They were one of the earlier bands to play, but I thought they stole the whole show! Everything about the band is awesome. I was able to buy the cd from them after the show and they all signed it for me! "Perfect" was a great song to start off with. But once you hear "Evolution" you will be hooked. My friends all think it is a rocking cd too! Support this awesome Australian band, they are a band to look to in the future

5.0 out of 5 stars Probably the best band to emerge out of Aussie!, December 4, 2004

This CD is sooo underrated that it's almost non-existent, I'm sad to say. Let's get this band recognized, people! I don't have just one "favorite" on this album. THE WHOLE ENTIRE ALBUM IS EXCELLENT!!! They should be up there onstage receiving video music awards for there debut album that REALLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN the rock album of 2001! I think they should be just as popular as Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, or ANY post-grunge artists. They possess the uncanny ability to write amazingly mind-blowing guitar hooks that are very catchy, and deliver SO much power and emotion that it really is damn "Perfect" (hence the hit single.) Do yourself a favor, crash the party with Crash Palace, and buy this album because brother, these guys kick a-- and just plain ROCK, HANDS DOWN!!!

Crash Palace is one of the best new bands out there. It's too bad more people don't know about them here in the US! There are so many good songs off their album, it's a really complete album with more then just a few hits on it. Buy "Crash Palace" and hear them for yourself, you might be surprised!

5.0 out of 5 stars Crashed the palace and still rockin', August 11, 2001

Hard rockin' as well as a few tempered tunes to keep it's pace, this CD ignites the rockers of old as well as the new rocker just entering the rock era that is not insync. This stuff is fresh and head pounding, with some cool riffs as well as a jammin' beat. My new favorite, I probably have listened to it over a hundred times in the past week. Bought two more to give away to my friends. Good for the girls and the guys.

4.0 out of 5 stars But where are they now?????????, January 4, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I got this album a while back. Very Very good throughout.
Putting on my sound-a-like, I would say a cross between Stone Temple Pilots and early Oasis, perhaps a dash of the Verve. They certainly can rock hard an heavy, some tunes have a nice trippy feel, some others are on softer side. Every time I pop this CD in for a listen, it stays in for a few days longer, and I find myself checking to see if they have some out with something new, then searching for any info. Such an ambitious release and no follow-up?

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Band That Never Was, May 13, 2008
This review is from: Crashpalace (Audio CD)
If you like punk, grunge, rock, Britrock, classic rock, metal, post-punk, post-grunge, whatever, any kinda music, you owe it to yourself to track down this album. It is loud and catchy and absolutely amazing.

In 2003 the band announced a sophomore album would be forthcoming, and no one was more excited about it than me. Then ... they suddenly broke up. The website mentioned that a couple members had left and the remaining members would try to pull a new band together. Then the website was taken down and nothing more was heard on the subject.

Marcus Maloney, the front man, popped up on an indie music website a couple years ago with three new solo acoustic folk tracks. I downloaded them; they're great. His profile has since been taken down.

I still search google for him now and again, but to no avail.

Oh well. This album could have been the foundation for a massively successful catalog. Instead it was a promising start that never fulfilled its promise.

5.0 out of 5 stars The New Led Zeppelin!, September 26, 2001
This review is from: Crashpalace (Audio CD)
Finally a rock band has emerged into the world of music, bearing a unique sound, full of addicitve melodies. The band is Crash Palace, and their debut album is superb.

It blends groovy guitar riffs with a solid bass, resulting in what should be the rock album of the year, and deservedly so. Crash Palace is not your ordinary rock band with a few chords and banging drums. They make great use of their keyboardist, Dean Thomas, to add another dimension to thier music. The amazing vocals of Marcus Maloney assimialte the likes of Jim Morrison and John Lennon.

The debut single, "Perfect", proves that Crash Palace can play heavy rock, with an interesting bass line pounded out by bassist, John Kelly, without being branded together with all the other average rock bands around today.

When I first heard the album I drifted back to the 70's, I was ecstatic that the new century could produce a band that is capable of surpassing the milestones of Led Zeppelin. There is not a song that doesn't engage emotion. The epic "Terra Firma" will remain long after Crash Palace, although too long to be released as a single, it will be a song that everyone talks about in twenty years time. "Come on" is another song worthy of this sort of praise, it builds and builds and when it peaks, so does everyone else in the room, it's amazing how Crash Palace can take so much emotion out of their audience.

This is definitely a CD that will be remembered as one of the greatest of all time, it's up there with greats such as "Pet Sounds" by The Beach Boys. It's going to start a new craze, and so will the lead guitarist, Jeremy Taylor, not only his guitar ability beyhond belief, but he will be the next sex symbol to emerge from the music industry.

Lets hope drummer, Peter Constantinou, will be able to hold things together. This band is going to need somebody with their head screwed on to try and keep things in perspective. Crash Palace is going to reiginite the Rock 'n' Roll sound, and lifestyle!

5.0 out of 5 stars "creative, original and blending harmonic emotion", September 20, 2001
This review is from: Crashpalace (Audio CD)
We need more of this distinctive sound mixed with Maloney and Taylor on guitar, countered by Constantinou (drums), Kelly (bass) and Thomas (keyboard), creating a balance that creeps into your musical soul...spells Australia's ~ "CrashPalace".

A few stand outs ~ "TWO KINDS", pure emotion comes through with lyrics ~ "You bought religion but only cos the price was down", this comes straight from the gut..."EVOLUTION", "are you vain enough? Save it, say hello", Marcus & Dean's words come through loud and clear...expect big things for this group, not afraid to tell it like it is...looking forward to their next venture into the realm of musical realism!

You might try another Trauma release, worthy of a good listen ~ "California" (TRM-74029-2)...please check out my reviews on amazon.com/music

Total Time: 48:08 on 13 Tracks ~ Trauma Records TRM-74018-2 ~ (2001)
