5.0 out of 5 stars Let's Have a Party!, July 15, 2003

This is beyond a doubt the best of Firehouse 5 + 2 I've ever heard. I grew up listening to the album and was thrilled to find the CD version. Overall, it's a pretty good likeness to the album, and it is very clean sounding. I do recall the soprano sax and piano being somewhat more prominent in the original album platform, so the mixing could have been a tad more faithful. The joy these musicians have in performing such fun music is definitely conveyed, and you, too, will be transcended into a happier place.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fond Memories!!, July 8, 2007

Loved this album as a kid and I was so happy to get on a CD. Not sure what to say about the music, either you like Dixieland or you don't. Ditto for the FH5+2. As Dixieland goes, it's free and easy. . . characterized by lots of work on the sorprano sax, which gives it a unique, less brassy, sound.

5.0 out of 5 stars Firehouse Five Five Star, July 26, 2008
This review is from: Crashes a Party (Audio CD)
The Firehouse Five has a very good blend of their instruments. Some Dixie bands crowd too many instruments into the song and it fails to blend. Firehouse Five does this, I think, extremely well. I have since ordered two more of their albums.
