Book Description

July 2003 1930648448 978-1930648449
The title poem refers to the mythological figure of Pan the Goatman, who lures us with his music into the delights and dangers of the wild woods. The poems are a rich mixture—the pleasures of love, the pain of loss, political turmoil, humor, the wonders of art, the thrill of discovery. Each page brings a surprise.

Hobbs’s first book, Poems from the Lake, now in its third printing, has been expanded to sixty-four poems and comes with the option of a CD—all the poems as read by the author. Both of her books have been praised for their lyricism, their clarity, and their strong sensual images.

"We see the wide range of the poet’s talent . . . a journey through a life lived wholly and deeply. . . ." -- Annie Farnsworth, editor of Animus
