As a great lover of luxury travel, I found this book an indispensable collection of unique destinations that are hard to find over the Internet, unless you have a significant amount of free time available. I have been using a few travel Websites for many years to arrange for both my business and leisure trips, but this book eventually opened my mind on the invaluable contribution that consultants like Mr. Strong can offer to seasoned and demanding customers such as myself. I already visited two of the destinations featured in the book: Bulgary Hotel while in Milan on business and Las Ventanas al Paraiso, close to Cabo San Lucas, on vacation with my partner. I enjoyed both experiences, which is the main reason why I resolved to write this review... A great reading for all travel lovers who understand the value of their time and money!

I bought Craving for Travel as a gift for a good friend of mine who is extremely passionate about international travel. I asked her if I could borrow the text for a few days as a consequence of her continuous rave about the extraordinary properties and the amazing pictures featured in it. I must admit that Jim Strong did a fantastic job presenting luxury destinations around the world in a non-traditional fashion. Through his book, in fact, you will discover that luxury can be found not only in a private villa on Lizard Island, but also in a custom-crafted leather seat in Singapore Airlines' first class; not just in an "eight-century old castle in the heart of the Beaujolais vineyards", but also heli-hiking "high-destination altitudes that can only be accessed by helicopter". I had to return the book, but I am anxious to plan my next vacation!

I personally don't travel much, and my best friend loves to pretend he's traveling -this book was a perfect find for him!
