Blues extraordinary!,
By Ben Parry (Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands) - See all my reviews

Anyone who has had the opportunity to see Bryan perform live will appreciate this studio album for it's incredible sound quality. The licks are the same, the commitment to the blues is the same, the showmanship is the same as his live performances. The mellow soulfulness of the Hammond B-3 sound combined with Bryan's guitar and vocals makes me shiver with his "preachin"! This CD is a must to complete any blues collection. Like New Orleans? Like Gumbo? You're gonna love this collection of Blues Gumbo! Especially the 3rd cut...."Can't Get Enough".

Most people you talk to have never heard of Bryan Lee, and it's a pity, as he's one of the true blues musicians out there today. His home base in New Orleans is the source for two great live recordings, and although his studio albums, including this one, are great, there really is nothing like seeing him live. It's a wonder he's going to be in my hometown this coming Friday, and I'm definitely going to check him out. I recommend everyone else do the same - chances to see authentic bluesmen like this don't come often. The CD itself is basically a continuum of his traditional blues performances, mixing in blues staples with new material
