We bought this for our daughter this christmas because she is very into art. We were very disappointed in the quality of the toy. I figured since it was crayola is would work nicely. This toys will NOT focus, slides are blurry when projected onto the paper. The desk part didn't light up as the directions stated it would to allow for tracing. I would not recommend this to anyone as it will frustrate you child as it did mine.

Crayola should be ashamed,

This toy is a total piece of junk and whoever at Crayola greenlighted it's release should be shown the door. The multitude of ways in which it fails to perform as advertised is still unbelievable to me. The main thing you need to know though, is that it does not project the slides well enough to trace them. The best I could produce was a blurry approximation of the image on the slide. It was only because I had seen the little image on the slide that I knew what the blurry thing was supposed to be. Buy yoursel a pack of crayons instead.

This was a gift for my daughter from Santa, she's really into art so i thought it would be perfect and i generally like crayloa products. Unfortunately the images are so blurry it hurts your eyes after a short time, particularly not good for tiny eyes! Very disappointing.

The concept is nice but unfortunately the design is poor, the image transparencies dont fit the holder properly (cut to big) & the light arm wont stay up at anything other then 90 degrees to the table (the instructions say it can be tilted but it simply falls flat), also the focus is terrible as well as the light table portion not being very bright. With a little work on Crayolas part this could be a great product, perhaps if it were made here instead of China they could keep better control of the quality!

So far so good. Everything seems to work, wasn't complicated to setup, and for everything included it's a good value.

My mother purchased this as a gift for my daughter for Christmas. My daughter is 5 and loves to draw. Right out of the box there were many sighs of frustration. The little overhead projector would not focus well and projected out of focus images. The little clip that holds your paper still was not tight and allowed your paper to slide. The little holes that held the markers were not deep enough so the markers would fall out and the marker holes were also in the way of your paper. The light was not bright enough to trace things...all in all this product was very disappointing. This was one of the gifts we were most excited about and wanted it to work but it did not perform well. It is boxed up to be returned and we're going look for a real lightbox, not a toy one.

There are so many problems with this product. To list just a few: the projected pictures are too small, it's impossible to focus the projector, the pictures tend to be too complicated to trace (because of size and lack of focus), the lights in the base are not bright enough to allow you to really trace your own picture, the provided pictures are on thin plastic disks that have to be inserted into a holder that is difficult to insert into the projecter, the pictures on the plastic do not line up well with the holes in the holder and sometimes you can only see part of the picture you are tracing, the projector arm does not lock upright well and sometimes flops over, etc. If you want to try this toy, make sure you can return it easily, because you probably will.

We bought this toy for our 6 1/2 year old son, who has just recently taken an interest in drawing. There are many, many slides to choose from and the variety is good. Our only complaint is that you cannot increase the size of the picture like you can with a regular projector. The pictures stay pretty small, which makes it hard to draw with the markers. And the focus is not as sharp as I would like it to be. However, our son really enjoys drawing with it and spends quite a long time using it. I would recommend it to others, but just know the pictures won't be very large.

I think it is a little too old for my daughter, 5 yrs, because she likes me to be right with her to do it but it seems sturdy yet light enough she can carry it around. The images are clearer than I thought they would be.

Great idea but horrible execution. This toy ALWAYS (always) fell apart. However, the kids insisted on "trying" to play with it and "make" it a fun experience. I give them credit, but there is MUCH left to be desired with this product. I am an avid Crayola consumer, but this one doesnt measure up - neither do the accessories. Maybe they'll improve upon this design and we will try again... here's hoping!
