The little green creature is super cute and my daughter (18 mths) loves its music. I thought it would be an attractive way to introduce coloring to her as the belly lights up to get her attention. Unfortunately she also loves to eat the crayons as well. I got the whole thing set up and we sat down with it, I picked up one crayon to show her what to do and she picked hers up and bit off the top! I will put it away and pull it out when she's a bit older to see if there are better results. I know that the package says for 18 months but I think that unless you child doesn't put everything in its mouth you should wait until your child is older.

My daughter was about 18 months when she got this for christmas as at that age she only really like to eat the colors however it works great as a night light. I loved using it as night-light it is on long enough to do what you need with out turning on the overhead light and the bedtime setting music is not disturbing to toddlers. Once my daughter got to be older , now 3, she likes to color on it while her 8 year old brother colors his doodle monsters/dinosaurs. She colors both the green part and the belly and they both wipe clean very nicely. We use crayola triangle crayons with it.

My granddaughter wasn't to interested in this toy, perhaps because she is only 1 yr. however she did scribble all over the toy once. Maybe she will like it again one day when she wants to draw or use a crayon. The price I paid was reasonable $17.64 with shipping included,I would not pay any more for this product. Shipped fast and on time.

My 5, 4 and 2 year old enjoyed it at first but interest didn't hold for long. The music didn't work for long. The crahon holders are a little awkward. I wouldn't recommend.

I picked this toy up cheap at a discount store (I've had it on my amazon baby registry for a short while). I have the washable crayons for the tub and they really do wash off very easily with just water. I'm saving this for a Christmas present so haven't taken it out of the box yet, but it's cute as can be (and larger than I thought based on the pix on this site). The seams appear to be very tight and those roly-poly crayons are just the best. My 16-month old daughter agrees. :-)

The idea is, you let your child draw on the toy's belly, then you can wipe it off and start again. There isn't very much room to draw, I don't see the advantage over paper. My child just ignores it. Also, the music they chose, far from being bright and cheery, sounds like a Muzak rendition of some old 70's piano ballad. This is one of Crayola's rare misfires, I think.
