5.0 out of 5 stars My Son Love This!
I bought this for my three year old son and he loves it! The only problem is he plays with it so much he goes through the paper very quickly. He has a great time turning off the lights and watching the cool effects. His nine year old twin cousins enjoy this as well, as does mom!

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Toy I bought This Christmas!
In my opinion this is an overpriced junk toy/craft set. The brilliant colors on the package are certainly NOT what you get when you use the spinner. In fact, the finished product is a small piece of black paper with very pitiful, pale, nondescript blotches of color. I bought two sets for my two grandkids, and the LED lights did not work on one of them. The kids were...

Could not believe the complete lack of quality coming from a company like Crayola.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible!, January 22, 2007
This review is from: Crayola Color Explosion Spinner - Red (Toy)
When I bought this there were no reviews. It looked really cool and I thought my 5 year old would love it. We bought it for Christmas, he tried it once and hasn't touched it since. It does not make pictures even close to the examples on the box. My husband tried using various amounts of drops and still could not get it to look swirled. Not worth the money at all.

My boys got the crayola spinner for christmas and have only used it twice. This toy was not thought out at all. It seems that the company was in such a hurry to get the spinner on the market that they didn't take the time to make sure it worked properly. We were very upset that couldn't get the results pictured on the box. The lights stopped working after 15 minutes and the batteries didn't last much longer. Don't waste your money on this product. Stick with the origional color wonder books and paper.

3.0 out of 5 stars solution refills not necessary, December 13, 2007

Even though I am not thoroughly impressed with this product, my kids (ages 5 and 6) seem to think it is fun enough. We used up the solution very quickly, so we tried using drops of water instead. IT WORKS! I know there is something other than water in the solution because it takes more water than solution to get the picture to work. But it DOES indeed work with water.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money on another worthless toy, November 26, 2007

My 6 year old son saw this on tv and thought he had to have it. He got it for his birthday, he literally opened it put in batteries and played around with it for 25 minutes trying to get it to do something, then asked for my help, it just didn't do anything, you drip a liquid on the paper and it shows some color thats already on the paper and whirls messy oil around the inside, he said, "oh lets take this back." So that is what we did, get a couple notepads and markers would be way better than this. It looks nothing like the commercials on tv, sadly this is just another toy that wastes parents time and money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed, December 28, 2006
This review is from: Crayola Color Explosion Spinner - Red (Toy)
My three boys are whipping through the paper. I don't understand why you have to fold the paper in half...why didn't they just make the paper the appropriate size. I don't see this keeping their interest after this one use.

The color explosion packets that come with the pens and a notebook of paper were AWESOME.

1.0 out of 5 stars I'm Done with Crayola, August 22, 2010

Crayola has disappointed my son several times over his 7 years, but this does it. There's no pretty colors...we only got one pattern of paper with one color design. Small amount of paper, and not much solution. Just cheap and now I'm convinced not to buy Crayola again, their products have become so low quality. I'll just stick to the crayons.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a letdown, March 3, 2010

My 5 year old received this as a Christmas gift and could not wait to use it. I thought it would be cool until I really looked at it, then I dragged my feet getting batteries, knowing it was going to be a disappointment. There is no real creativity involved. As the other reviewers said, you drip a clear solution onto a folded sheet of color wonder paper and it brings out the colors already printed on the paper. The wheel does not keep a steady speed and never spins in the right way to make the solution spread across the paper. The smell when my daughter started using it made me nauseous and I worry about what is in this stuff if my 2 year old gets ahold of it. We used it to create one "spin art", then my daughter wanted to use the pack of paper to draw pictures with the plain black marker while we waited for the solution-saturated paper to dry. I am contemplating how this might work with regular paper and paint when the paper pack is gone. As one reviewer said, what a waste of plastic. I, too, think Crayola should be ashamed.
