5.0 out of 5 stars great idea, too expensive, November 5, 2002

Someone bought these markers for my 2 year old. But they are cool, even my 6 year old loved it. The markers only work on the colorwonder paper, and its neat to see the color appear seconds after you draw, like magic. the pad of paper lasted a couple months, only cause we treated it like gold, i made them use up every bit of the sheet before they got another piece. ive never bought more paper and probably never will, its expensive. so if your buying this as a gift, get an extra pad, because i dont know any parent who wants to pay 7 or 8 bucks for a doodle pad. we've had these markers for 9 months and they havent dried out. if only i could afford more paper.....

We originally purchased the Crayola Mess-Free Book Case on our RV summer vacation. My daughter was 18mos old at the time and we wanted to have things to keep her entertained but didn't want anything that would cause a potential mess as we were renting the RV. These worked wonderfully. She would lay on the floor and color on the paper and we didn't have to worry about her getting markers on anything. She is now 2yrs old and loves the coloring books as well as the plain sheets of paper. They are a bit expensive but after having to clean crayon and permanent marker off walls, floors ect, we've decided that it's worth the extra money to buy the paper occassionally.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Product For Traveling, February 17, 2008

My son is almost 6 but is developmentally delayed, so occasionally when bored he'll attempt to draw on things other than paper. At home boredom isn't an issue but in a car, well, you can see where problems arise. A 3 hour car ride can lead to a colorful drawing on the windows, himself, the dog or pretty much anything within reach.

Considering we travel regularly for appointments and then a good amount during the summer to head to the beach, I definitely got this item. It is really good for car travel, it doesn't stain anything! Though like someone said, the paper is expensive which is why we only use it for car travel.
